Alright, so I found my dress and bought it. I had to buy the sample because it was discountinued 1-1-11, boo! However, mom and I went over the sample and it looked amazing actually, no stains underneath from being dragged on the floor, no rips, nada. I put my deposit down and went home, it’s been 2 weeks and I started second guessing myself but not because of the dress. Because it was the only dress in the store that I liked that had a big enough sample for me to try on and get a feel for the actual look. Clearly size 10 samples aren’t made for girls with well, large girls. I could barely get any of and when I did I refused to come out of the dressing room because I hated them. I start to worry that maybe there was more out there that maybe I would have liked if I could try it on. Did any of you girls go through the same thing?
I wish I was still bustled in the second picture, mom untied me before realizing she didn’t get the picture of the front the first time!

That dress is beautiful on you. But I went through that exact thing. I bought a dress off the rack because it fit and I did like it. But I ended up buying my dream dress, I never even tried it on before because the samples never fit. If you love the dress I would keep it. The regret can eat away at you if you let it.

I think you look gorgeous in that dress!

@cincity75: samples not fitting is a killer, I’m such a visual person and can make decisions easier if i can SEE what I’m deciding on. Damn you bridal salons.

Its a beautiful shape for your figure and I would never have guessed you’re plus sized from the photos. It also looks great in the bust area…which as a busty gal myself I know is IMPORTANT.
Take some time and think about it, but if you decide to stick with your original choice you’ve got my vote!
…also just picture this dress with a veil and jewelry. LOVE 🙂

I agree, once I knew that a dress wouldn’t fit me, I automatically dismissed it. I didn’t want to take a chance that maybe it would look good and maybe it would not. Some people don’t mind the risk, but I would. You have to figure out if that risk is worth it to you.
I think the dress looks nice on you though!

I think the dress looks great on you! I just went through something similar, and also wrote a post about it. I bought a dress this weekend and I only was able to try on the size 10 sample in order to make my decision. It is so easy to second guess yourself without the proper visual…but based upon your pic, this dress is wonderful!

It is a gorgeous dress on you!
I think it is normal to second guess yourself! Just give it some time and you will fall back in love with it!

As a 2-dress bride, I totally understand the dress regret. I think this looks GREAT on you! But, you only get to do this once. Be happy.

I think the dress looks great on you. Most of the dresses I tried on didn’t fit me either, and it was very hard for me to visualize. My mom wanted me to track down a few dresses in my size, but it just got exhausting. It’s funny-maybe someone should do a poll on this-but the dress I ended up buying was one of the only ones that the sample fit me.
