Hi all, had a horrible day but it just got much better as my dresses came tonight (so excuse the crushed dresses). I got all the dresses on sale from The Limited wedding collection at $45 bucks a piece! The quality is awesome. I do plan to have a beachfront afternoon wedding.
Dress #1 ( the one I am leaning to although I plan to change the sash and brooch). Orange is my main colour, do you think an orange sash would work? I am working an orange shoe for the day. Also what about a mermaid petticoat, would I need one?

Dress #2 (heavy...2 layers of crinoline and 2 slips), I also plan to change the belt to a bridal sash with gold or an orange sash.

Dress #3 (I think it more like a bridesmaid but everyone says it is simple but elegant and can work- not so sure)

Please for your honest opinions and thanks for being so helpful bees! :)
I voted for #1 I love the details on the bodice :)
I think #1 is gorgeous and is the most flattering. I guess I'd have to actually see it with an orange sash, but I think it's beautiful as-is!
I like the first one best, with the current sash (mostly because I have no idea what shade of orange you would put with it). You can add a mermaid petticoat, which would make it look better, but it is not necessary. I am not a fan of the third one because the seam under the bust looks weird to me. The bust on #2 is not flattering on you, but it might look better with a different bra/after it is altered. Also the first one seems the most beach appropriate to me.
Do you really love any of these dresses, or are you just making do? I only ask because I just don't think any of them are Your Dress. I have to admit that they're just ... okay. The first one's nice but you have such a gorgeous figure you could pull off anything! If you're trying to stay under budget there's tons of other options out there... I just don't care for these.
@Kristen, I love Dress #1 and loved it when it $400 but kept looking. I was so stoked when I saw that it had gone on sale and the price was dropping. I just crossed my fingers and toes that there would be a size 4 left. I was estactic when it dropped and with a coupon I got it for around $45. Now I am a budget bride and I am even happier having paid so much less for my dress than I originally thought. I should add that I am pretty practical and not fussy.
My Mom and Fi loves Dress 1 as well but thinks the sash needs to change. My nephew who is 3 saw me in Dress 1 and asked if I was a princess...that is sealing the deal for me.
You look beautiful in the first dress! I think you should try a mermaid petticoat with it, just to see how it changes the look. Either way, it's a fabulous dress and you are gorgeous in it!
first dress is my vote , the cut and shape and fabric is alot more flattering
Thanks all, should that be a mermaid petticoat with hoops or just tulle. Which one would go best with Dress #1 (which seems to be the favourite out of the three)
I saw a davids bridal fit and flare slip:
http://www.recycledbride.com/listing/everything-else/mermaid-petticoat-crinoline

or a mermaid petticoat with hoop from DHGate:

or one made with just tulle from recycled bride:

Your opinions are greatly welcomed. Thanks all! :)
I LOVE dress 1...I just went to the wedsite but they don't have any more. It is beautiful and looks great on you. Now, I'm not to sure about the orange sash. The orange shoes yeah if orange is your color but I can't picture the sash with it.
i love dress #1 the best!
I think the orange sash would looks awesome! I like the white too though :D
@ ruby.cosmo, you and other PP might be right, maybe an orange sash is too much. I am thinking of going with these shoes tho

Any other suggestions for high orange heels (under $100, would be welcome)
I think dress #1 looks the most like what you would walk down the aisle in. I would definitely change the sash to add more color and perhaps bling. Perhaps you can have the bow tie in the back instead? Like a large, dramatic, long bow effect.
I definitely think you invest in a mermaid slip, but I also think you should have the dress altered to fit a little snugger if you want that fit and flare look.
I think that you could wear dress #2 or dress #3 as a reception dress. They look a little big on you so perhaps have them taken in a little too? You could also dye them a different color, or accessorize with sparkly belts. You could even alter the length of one of them, and wear all three. dress #1 down the aisle, dress #2 or #3 at the reception, and change into a shorter dress #2 or #3 when you're being sent off into the car by family and friends.
Number 1 is my pick. How about since it seems you want orange why not add a slip with Orange tulle http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dwKWyTM0_ag/TZE8ssxmdKI/AAAAAAAAAO0/q8s3BF1R1xM/s1600/Orange+Crinoline.bmp
.
I picked dress 1, but definitely think it needs a slip. I love the idea of the orange criniline that was sugested, not sure a orange sash would work but it may be amazing.
Dress 1 definitely! I love @mrsRinger's suggestionof an orange petticoat! Maybe that plus a blingy shoe instead of an orange shoe?? I think both together might be too much...maybe not though. Do you have a pic of an orang sash?
Definitely number 1! That dress is fabulous! And only for $45!!! Wow!!!! Awesome!!!! I think an orange sash and orange shoes will be overkill. I'd go with slip #1.
I said dress 1 with orange sash, but I would go for a more peachy pale orange. The detailing on it is beautiful. I would try it with a mermaid petticoat to get maximum flare at the bottom.
I love @MrsRingor2011:'s idea about the orange slip - that would be absolutely awesome!!
Rather than changing the sash why not just change the brooch to something orange? So you still match but subtly?
I think the first looks great. I think it needs a little tailoring in the waist...which might be why people are telling you to get a new sash. I don't think a new sash is totally necessary. :)
I picked dress 1 with the white sash. I think your flowers, shoes, etc. in orange will be enough, especially if your BM dresses are orange.
I wouldn't choose satin for a beach wedding...satin doesn't breath and I would be afraid of sweating. The one shoulder dress is nice, but it doesn't seem very bridal to me...it does look more like a BM dress.
All the dresses are indeed lovely! But IMO, dress 1 is the best! Good luck and congrats! I secretly wish I could have 5 dresses, LOL
I voted for #1. I think that looks the best and is the most bridal of the 3.
OMG...dress #1 ALL THE WAY!!! I love it just the way that it is! Maybe do an orange shoe.
Dress 1 looks great, but I agree that the orange sash would look better. For a summer wedding, I would definitley NOT choose #2 (too heavy/hot!!!)
Definitely the first one with a mermaid crinoline.
No orange sash! Orange shoes and maybe dye the crinoline. If you want to change the sash do a blingy belt instead.
very pretty dress! I'd love to see it once you've had alterations with a crinoline and all the jazz. And with better lighting, lol
What a steal!
OMG..you guys are wonderful...the most wonderful bees!
Do you know of any product links to orange mermaid petticoats. I am only finding regular a-line or tea length petticoats. Any link to the mermaid petticoat in orange would be lovely.
Hmm..I have been so focused on having an orange sash, but as some posters have said, maybe a plain sash with flowers at the front and a tie at the back would be good as I did wonder about the back being plain.
Not sure if you can buy them fom many places pre-dyed. There are some places like this. But to get exactly the kind you want, it would either be a special order or a DIY project.
@kala_way: thanks..I looked at the etsy link and I also found a thread on here about dyeing crinolines http://www.weddingbee.com/2009/01/10/dyeing-your-crinoline-a-complete-guide/ Going to have to look into it!
To be completely honest, I am not a fan of any of them really but if I had to chose one it would be #1 all the way!
ok i like dress #1 but it needs some jacking up (LOL)
you def need a mermaid slip i say take your dress make an apt if need and try it on see which one fits best w your dess.(things always look diffrent when you try them on)
the sash i say go with the orange hue of your choice just make sure its a shimmer sheerish material so its not so caryonish

you can also try sugar star fish ash a sash accent they are also orangish in hue
i plan on having a beach wedding also and my colors are mango and aqua these color work in the islands think mangos or coral and ocean water !!!! and work it clothes are 90% attitude
I think # 1 shows off your figure best :) if you got it, flaunt it! Beautiful!
