Ok Bees, we’re almost there with one week to go…I picked up both my dresses from alterations this week. And my dirty little secret is, I have a a third one that I’m going to pick up next week. To my credit, I am glad I bought three because the first two had their share of alterations woes and the third one arrived at the last minute. My dear mom arrives in town today so I will show all the dresses to her and see if she can work magic on them to fix the problems. Meanwhile, I will keep you updated on the progress report 🙂 At this one which one I’m wearing will depend on which one is most fixable.
Here’s my much unloved Vera. Personally I think it looks good after alterations/modifications. But what’s that bunching up on the chest that suddenly appeared after the third fitting? Seamstress says it was always there, just because obvious when the dress was fitted to my body. If we can get rid of that, I think this will be my ceremony dress as I just got a gorgeous, gorgeous cathedral length lace mantilla that goes beautiful with simplicity of the dress. I know the dress looks champagne and the veil looks white but it’s just different lighting, they actually work together.
More pics to follow later.

Beautiful dress! I didn’t even notice the bunching until you pointed it out. What if you pulled the dress up just a tad? It looks like it’s a little low.

missy I thought the same thing. I didn’t see the bunching until I focused on it. Really, no one will see what you think is bad. and ya, this could be a low cut dress but I think it should be pulled up more, unless, it’s the cut of the dress to sit lower on the chest. nothing wrong with low cut if it’s suppose to be there but for some reason, this one looks like it should go higher. do you have altered breasts?

Meliss, that’s so gorgeous! LOVE your mantilla veil – I will be wearing one myself, and have developed a bit of an obsession with them. Is that French Chantilly lace? And the Vera is breathtaking, it looks so different from the photos you posted a few weeks back. AMAZING!!!

Yes, I do agree the dress sits too low, I don’t know why. It is quite tight around the chest area and I wasn’t able to lift it when I tried it on. Maybe it needs to be let out some?
Thanks @cherryshake! It is chantilly lace. I got it from Etsy seller marisolaparicio. She’s a wonderful lady and their work is amazing, I can’t say enough good things about her and her mom who made my veil.

Ummm…..WOW! Meliss, this dress is amazing. These pictures (better quality than the previous ones you posted of this dress) show how truely beautiful the dress is! All of the comments about the lace at the dropped waist were way off, I love it! You went with your instinct and bought this dress! Great job, you were right! 🙂

Well, I loved this one before and I love it still–I hope that you do wear this one, although you are sooo beautiful in everything you have tried on anyway 😉 Best Wishes for your wedding next week!!!

I love your dress. I am so happy you went with this one! I was voting for it the whole time!!!!

My mom’s finally here and to make things more confusing, she loves the Lazaro 100x more than the Vera. She says the pictures don’t do it justice. Which is true in a weird way, I like it when I see myself in the mirror but hate it in the pics.
Also bad news, apparantly that bunching up on the ballgown may not be fixable Seamstress says the pattern was cut badly and the dress is made like that. I can’t believe that would happen on a Vera Wang dress! All the odds are against this poor dress. I love it still but that bunching would look horrible in the pics, I can’t wear it that way.

ETA: I have no idea why my boobs looks so big in the pics, they don’t look like that in person. This camera does weird things! Mom’s adding some tulle to the bust like a modesty panel to cover them up a bit.

You look gorgeous! I do love that Lazaro. that’s the one in the last two top pics right? Love it!
You look so gorgeous! Congrats.
Now show the third dress. Can’t wait to see it!

Honestly Meliss, I can’t see the bunching in the Vera unless I REALLY look for it.

I love the Lazaro! It is so fab!

The Vera dress is really pretty. But looking at them side by side, the Lazaro just looks KILLER on you. Super big wow factor.

Can you get another seamstress? I didn’t see Vera bunching up in the photos before you had the sweetheart neckline done. Maybe it’s your seamstress, and she wants to blame it on the gown. Was it the same one that worked on the Larazo? I don’t think she did justice to that gown either. I think I would take it to someone else PRONTO. And wear whatever gown you want! It’s your day. BTW-Just sayin’ You look so gorgeous-I think you could rock a paper bag 🙂
