My own feedback:
I think the biggest problem may be that it looks a bit short and is not not really a tea-length dress. However, this is my fault as I measured myself so I probably didn't get it right. I'm afraid that with the underskirt (for the pouf), it would seem as if I'm wearing a tutu. I may wear the dress just as is then as I don't want a really short dress. Would be nice if they could add a few more layers of tulle to the skirt. That way, I won't need to use the crinoline/underskirt/petticoat and will still look full (am afraid, it would be TOO full with the petticoat).
I'm not sure about that extra bit of lace around one side of the sweetheart. Seems superflous.
The belt is removable so that's great.
All in all, I am actually really happy and I think it looks great for what it is!:):)
I agree about the lace I would probably have that removed now that you mention it. I think they will add more net if you ask. They did for me.
@redband: I think it looks really good.
My comments are similar to yours. It looks much shorter than the original (but you'll have to see what it's like when you get it) and I don't really like the unevenness of the top (although it looks like the original has the same unevenness).
I'd even out the top (make it symmetrical) and maybe ask about adding more layers of tulle to the skirt if they can do that without making it shorter so you don't have to use a petticoat and have it be super short.
I LOVE the detailing on the bow and I like the combo of lace and tulle.
Can't wait to see it on you when you get it.
Also I noticed that this gown is ..sort of drop waist and not a natural waist like the original. Is this just me though?
This is my reception dress so I'm not uber uber picky but I would still like to look nice!
@redband: I think the original dress is fairly natural waisted. It looks though that the skirt is slimmer through the hips and then poofs a bit below that. Almost like a modified A-line rather than a "ball gown" type shape.
@redband: I think the waist looks different than the original only because the belt looks thinner than the original one, other than that, the waist appears the same to me.
@redband: I'd have them add length to it like you said, it's a lot easier for you to get it shortened if it came too long than have it lengthened. I wouldn't worry about the waistline, after all it depends on the measurements that you sent them.
I think it is the bow also. It's not as wide and it isn't in the same place but I know it's not attached so that is good.
I actually live on the same street as a bridal store which sells the original so I decided to examine the original dress on the way to the supermarket. Sure, the original is more beautiful (the whole structure and the lace as well) but the replica isn't all that bad either.
In the original, the lace peeking on one side of the neckline is more.. pretty in the sense that it's flower-patterned lace so it looks like a branch of cherry blossoms or whatever creeping just above your breast (in a nice way!) not some random piece of lace which someone forgot to snip off. Also the skirt is definitely more full- there was no crinoline/petticoat under the dress. Finally, in terms of length, the real life version also does not look very long (maybe about an inch or so more than the Dressilyme version). The belt on the original is also nicer and bigger but I really don't care about that.
Still happy with the Dressilyme version. I'm just going to request if they can increase the length by about 1-1.5 inches, to snip off that extra bit of lace and to add more layers to the skirt. I hope Karen will not be too mad:D
@redband: I think it looks great! It's never going to be an exact match bt I genuinely think it's gorgeous!
((@KatNYC2011: If i remember from another thread...you're about to go on your honeymoon...? If i'm right, have an amazing time!!))
They made changes for me, when I asked Karen nicely to so I am sure they will for you too. It's a gorgeous dress!
I think it looks great! My comments are the same as above... I am not sure if it is shorter, or it just looks like it because the waist is dropped.
love it! not sure about the lace only on one side though, I think it would look great if you added it to the entire top!
I think its very pretty, usually, when you look on websites, they will state that 'this dress needs a petticoat.......not included', so a petticoat may very well be the thing that this dress is missing, and they are pretty cheap to buy. the dress is pretty spot on though in style.
True but the thing is, the real dress definitely had a very full look (without the petticoat). The real thing probably had.. I don't know..maybe 10-15 layers or so of tulle and the Dressilyme version looks like it has 3 layers?
I already bought a petticoat for it (in case) but now I am afraid that the petticoat is too big (the ring) and that it will make the skirt even shorter!
It seems MUCH shorter than the inspiration pic. If you wear something underneath, it will be even shorter. Isn't it supposed to be tea length?
Yup, it is supposed to be tea length but I wanted the hem to reach about 1.5 inches below my knee as I am 5ft 3" (so my calves aren't exactly the longest haha). I didn't quite expect it to be that short though and when I told them 35.5 inches from hollow to hem- I meant the final look, not before the petticoat etc (as the original didn't need a petticoat). I've already written to Karen and hopefully, they can fix this as I am aiming for the vintage look rather than the trampy Saturday night out look:D
Karen got back to me saying that it is not possible to lengthen the dress as it's already been tailored and the waist measurements are the ones provided (I didn't provide any- it was a standard size 4). They have however, added some netting to the dress.
This is how it looks like now:

I have already approved it and it will be sent soon.
It does not really look like the original (proportions etc.) but it looks like a pretty dress as it is and I will see how it looks like in real life. If it is too short (i.e. slightly slutty), then I will not wear it to my reception. If it looks great in real life, I will wear it with pride;)
I think its on point! its a great inspiration dress. I think it will look amazing on. I don't see any flaws.
Didnt you say they were going to remove that extra bit of lace?
have you received it yet?
The replica looks beautiful but unfortunately you are right Dressilyme did not recreate it right at all. As pretty as dress is it is not close to an original. They could definitely add a few more layers and make it longer and it would look just like an original.Kinda dissapointed in they work after so many positive reviews.
However I do think dress it beautiful and hopefully it wont look short on you.Hope you can rock it :)!!!

They sent me pictures and from what I can see, it looks pretty nice!
The only thing which is really different from the original dress is that it is less pouffey but that can be helped with an underskity (which I've already ordered).
Can you guys give me feedback and tell me if there's anything wrong with this dress? (lopsided, uneven whatever?)
This is the original dress:
This is the Dressilyme version:
You can be as brutally honest as you like:)
