Please don’t focus on getting your midwife in trouble; that’s a waste of time for you and your baby.  Focus on having a healthy baby.  If you don’t trust your current provider, then find another provider for a second opinion and switch providers.  Have you calculated your own due date based on date of conception or your last menstrual period?

@lynchdani62:  Some babies are carried low the entire pregnancy. The fact that she has “dropped twice” tends to make me think that is the case. An ultrasound wouldn’t show if you are going into labor. it might show a shortened cervex, but beyond that is no indication of when you will go into labor. If you don’t trust your provider maybe it would be a good idea to find a new one.

@lynchdani62:  What do you think the ultrasound is going to tell you

@lynchdani62:  If you really don’t trust your midwife, then maybe find an OB for a second opinion.  You can ask her to check you for progress at your next appointment, but I feel like it would be really hard for them to be a whole month off on your due date.

If you’re unsure when your last period was, I would look into having an ultrasound done. They’ll measure the baby and give you a more accurate due date. I see an OB so I’m not sure how midwives normally operate but it seems odd that she’s not listening to your concerns at all. Perhaps it’s time to seek another provider, or look into a place where you can get an elective ultrasound.

@lynchdani62:  My daughter carried low. I swear I felt like she was touching my ankles allllll the time.

@lynchdani62:  So you’ve had two ultrasounds already? And the baby was measuring according to your Feb 24 due date? If that’s the case, I probably wouldn’t worry too much.

If you’ve had 2 ultrasounds already, and both “agreed” with your Feb. 24th due date, that’s pretty solid evidence, especially if one of those ultrasounds was before 14 weeks.  Range of error in the first trimester is less than one week, range in the second trimester is usually 10-14 days.

Also, if you were “really” 32+ weeks (ie a January due date), then you’d be measuring along those lines when the MW measures your abdomen.

Some babies do just carry low and it doesn’t mean anything.  With a Feb 24th due date, you very well could have a March baby (statisically likely!)! 🙂
