I am with you. I love music too much to let it be up to someone else. It's probably the thing that I'll spend the most time on besides dress hunting.
I've already started working on a getting ready playlist, and the reception playlist and am toying with different ceremony songs.
Ours was pretty ecclectic.
He walked to something by Vivaldi played on guitar. He's a classical buff, but I'm not, so I don't know what it was.
I walked to So Here We Are by Bloc Party.
We recessed to Stevie Wonder Signed Sealed Delivered.
So we covered classical, Indie and R&B just in the ceremony. Reception was Indie heavy but incredibly ecclectic.

I started planning my wedding music even before the engagement occurred! My friends all know that if I'm going to be a Bridezilla about 1 thing, it will be my music. I'm extremely non-traditional and have tentatively chosen a pretty eclectic list of music for the ceremony!
Parents/Grandparents seated: 'Close'- Pete Yorn
Bridal party: 'Honey and the Moon'- Joseph Arthur
ME!: 'Day Too Soon'- Sia
Recessional: 'Walking On A Dream'- Empire Of The Sun, 'Somewhere Only We Know'- Keane
At the reception, our first dance will be to 'Fade Into You' by Mazzy Star. The rest of the music played (before, during, after dinner) will be chosen by us. There will be no Electric Slide, no Kool and the Gang, no We Are Family... :)
