This is the first time I’ve ever tried photographing jewelry and the pics aren’t the best, both in terms of my skill level and doing proper justice to the beautiful rings my fiance’s given me. Hopefully having a bunch of pics gives at least some idea of what my rings are like
There are three which may seem a bit odd, so I’ll interject a bit of explanation.
The aquamarine ring is my pre-engagement ring. Mr. Cappugcino lives over 2,000 miles away. Because of the distance, even though we knew from the time our friendship turned into romance that we would get married, we agreed that a slow courtship was in order. He gave me the ring so that I would always remember that no matter how far apart we were, I was always in his heart.
Then my first engagement ring was an opal, with diamonds and tasvaorites. It’s a large ring that covers my finger clear almost to the knuckle. While it’s very pretty and I love it, I’ve never felt comfortable wearing it. I’m always afraid of damaging it since opals are a softer stone or having it stolen. Love it, but it’s too much ring for daily wear.
After a lot of hesitating and beating myself up about it, I finally confessed to Mr Cappugcino about my concerns and we agreed that another ring was in order. Because he’d already given me such a lovely ring, I didn’t want to spend much so we set a budget of modest budget for my new ring. We planned to look online, but ended up finding the perfect ring last time Mr C was here when we were at the mall. On a whim we popped into a locally owned jewelry store and in the case I saw the exact ring I’d dreamed of since I was a little girl. I tried it on and it was just under budget, then the saleswoman informed us it was 40% off. A brief discussion sitting by the fountain and we returned to purchase it!
My official engagement ring is an oval cut emerald that’s roughly the size of a 1 ct diamond. The emerald is surrounded by little diamonds. We didn’t purchase a wedding band that day but tried on several and I think we’re going to go with a 2-3mm yellow gold band, it fits just perfectly underneath the setting for my stone against the band of my engagement ring!
So here are all three of my sparklies!!!!
Back row left my new emerald & diamond engagement ring. Back row right my original opal, diamond & tsavorite engagement ring. Front row aquamarine pre-engagement ring. Plus some of my stuffed pug collection in the background.
My aquamarine pre-engagement ring.
Not very good shot of my engagement ring but it’s one of the few shots that the diamonds really read on the camera. They’re so sparkly they’re hard to photograph!!!
