I literally just screamed “WHAT?!?” at my computer.
I was picturing the band being snapped or something! Girlfriend, you need to go in there and let them KNOW that they will be fixing this free of charge. I honestly think they will anyway. I have my grandmother’s ring and the same thing happened. Maybe consider getting platinum prongs?

I agree with MilksMom, see if you can get Platinum prongs.

That’s what happened with my middle stone (I have a 3 stone ring). The prongs were in tact but I got a tiny chip in it somehow. They fixed it by shaving it down and I lost .01 of a carat and had to pay $100. A couple months later one of my side diamonds was missing! Again prongs were in tact. I call it bad luck, but the good luck definitely came when I found the diamond on the floor after. The jeweler said it would have taken awhile to replace because it’s a trapezoid, not to mention our insurance deductible costs $$. I’m currently thinking about changing my setting to something lower and more “safe”, if possible!

Take it to whom ever you got it from and get them to fix it. The prong breaking is wayyyy better then the diamond breaking. Just take a deep breath and remember this is fixable. It could have just been a faulty prong.

Im just soo thannkful that the center diamond didnt fall out.Its only a 4 prong and now only 3 prongs are holding it in place. also on the prongs theres diamonds going up them and the one diamond looks like i could fall out. Im glad i noticed it, im contantly looking at my ring and it deff wasnt like this yesterday.

I was at work one day and i caught my ring on a shelf and the darned band snapped in half! It is a vintage estate piece, and so obviously must have had a structural issue but i was devistated! And my hand was so naked while it was getting fixed. Now I have a ring i wear to work and durring hands on things so that my ring stays safe from danger!
