So we had our ceremony this saturday cos we wanted to get all the legal hassle out of the way before our church marriage in june..it was a lovely day, honestly didnt expect it to feel so meaningful..thought I would feel ‘truely’ married only after the church ceremony but I was soo wrong..can hardly bear taking off my wedding ring at night!! The pictures are not professional quality as a friend took them but I love them!! Ok,one down one more to go whew!
Eeek sorry the pics are soo huge..no idea how to make them smaller..

I love your pictures! I felt the same way you do when I had my civil ceremony. 🙂 I also didn’t think it would feel real, and came away being surprised at how nice it was and how much it meant to me!
In the end, both ceremonies hold a special place in my heart. The civil ceremony married me legally, and the “official” religious/family ceremony had all of our friends and family there to celebrate with us. 🙂

@mimi84: I think you will. I know I did!! 🙂 It was just as special but in a different way because we could share it with our families and that was so important to both of us. We planned pretty much the whole wedding after we had the civil ceremony so there were times when we thought “is this really worth it?”. One of my favorite memories of the wedding was of picking up his family from the airport. His dad told me “We saw your civil ceremony video but it didn’t feel real. We are all so glad to be able to be a part of this even if it’s not the original date”. It really made everything come together for us! 🙂
