Ummm... I think this is a very good sign he's up to something!!!! :)
Alright!! I hope it means he finds it!!
Funny story - my FI stole my David Yurman ring to have my ering sized which I obviously didn't notice b/c it was way too big for my finger and I never wore it! So for the first few days we were engaged I wore my e-ring on my middle finger so it wouldn't fall off :)
Um, YEAH! I told him I couldn't find it so he said to check my purse - NOPE! When I left I asked him to look for it. I'm not too excited because of the timeframe I was given... which would be after September. But weird, and a little sad if it's gone as a result of my negligence.
Oh i'm so sorry! But you know what, I bet it will turn up! One time I lost a ring and tore my house apart searching for it. Two weeks later my printer jammed... it was INSIDE the printer! My cat had batted it off the table and onto the floor (printer was on the floor) and into the printer. sigh. lol. Just to say, you'd be surprised where things turn up!
Hmmmmmmmmmm MAYBE he brought it up because he has it and wanted to slyly let you know?
It was weird because the context of the conversation had nothing to do with the ring, that's why I got a red flag on it. Well, if he "finds" it in a place I've looked I'll act dumb. If I don't find it at all I'll be sad! This was the big deal ring, it was the one which was styled the same way I want my engagement ring and also the one we had sized together so I could let him know my ring size! We'll see!
I'm sure you will find it. I lost my class ring from high school back in my junior year and last year while going somewhere with my little 4 year old sister she pulled it out of her purse. She said "Here Sissy! It's your ring." I couldn't believe that she had found it! She said it was in her room, which makes sense since that was my room in high school. Just relax, it will pop up...mine did 5 years later!
EEEEeeeee!!!!! I hope you...find it?!?!?!? No, seriously, either way - I hope it turns up. It would be so great if his "timetable" was running a little ahead of schedule!
On an unrelated note - yesterday I lost my diamond earring. I was frantically searching the house. I had given up and was ready to call our insurance agency when my Dear Dear Husband came up to me with a shiny little stud!!!! Turns out, my cat had batted it UNDER our rug. I had checked the rug over and over and over again - but not under it! Crazy kitties!
My FH did that to me. He took my class ring to get the size. (I don't really wear rings so it's the only one I have.) Apparently he had it for over a week. I did notice that it wasn't in it's usual spot (on my desk), but at the time I thought i had just misplaced it. I'm so absent minded/ditzy that I didn't realize what was going on! In fact, I didn't catch ANY hints. I guess he's lucky I'm so oblivious! hahahahaha
Do guys really drop hints when they are planning on proposing? It seems counter-productive, but I'm thinking that is the trend based on some of the posts.
I think they do, but not on purpose... It's hard to be sneaky!
Mine dropped major hints. The weekend after he bought my ring (and the week before he proposed...) he said/did the following:
- commented on my gold earrings ...he said he heard gold was in style lately (my ering is platinum and has gold in it, too)
- looked at my diamond tennis bracelet and commented how small the diamonds are
- commented on the size of other women's rings at a cocktail party
- commented about the average size of engagement rings these days
One comment wouldn't have tipped me off, but everything together....He was never very good at keeping secrets : )
Hmm, that helps. He has definitely been weird since coming back from Canada last weekend. Actually, the strangest part was he asked me to call his cousin and let him know his flight changed. So I called the guy, who I have never met or spoken to, let him know who I was and why I was calling, and he starts laughing and says it was "so great" to speak with me.
The flight didn't change... I realized the flight number Mr. Tacos gave me to notify his cousin was the same flight he was on but was a shared flight between two airlines.
On top of that, he has NOT been talking about us getting engaged or our future, but mentioned that ring out of nowhere... and also has taken a serious interest in saving money, watching wedding shows, and how much his brother's wedding is. And then the comment about how "$x" is an appropriate cost for a ring, which, by the way, is an inordinate amount I don't think is necessary...
Now I am tearing up the house looking for the ring. It was a cheap ring, but I'm going to toy around with this in the weekend when we go shopping and buy another cheap ring with him so I can be sad about losing the other one.
Ugh! We'll see, because I know for a FACT he at least wants to wait until after May and also after he meets my parents. So weird, but this is fun! I like this game!
yea! sounds sneaky to me! i hope you find it..or better yet, find it along with a prettier one!
I hope you find it tacos:) That reminds me, my bracelet's been missing since christmas, I wonder if I left it at his....
ooOOooo so exciting!! i hope hope hope you didn't lose it but that he just snagged it for a little ring sizing adventure!
it's never to early to start saving or planning - esp if it sounds like he's going to get you some serious bling! i bet he took your ring to a jeweler to start getting ideas, budgeting, etc. eeeek! how exiciting!
Mine definitely dropped hints. I think that he wanted me to know he was proposing (without blatantly telling me) so that I'd have a chance to hint against it if I was going to say no! haha. My guy might have been a little more scared than most though because he was clearly ready for marriage at about year 1 and I was NOT and would always drop "don't you dare propose to me yet" hints. So I think he wanted to make sure that the absents of those "don't propose" hints weren't just a fluke!
Mr. Tacos KNOWS I am waiting and ready. I haven't found the ring, and I've been lamenting about it. I told him I wanted to buy a replacement this weekend, and he said "no", that it was probably at his parents or it will turn up.
Which would be a normal response because he doesn't like me spending money.
But where the hell is it? I just don't lose things. :/
Him saying no.. I really think he has it... even though its a normal response.. with all the hints he has been droppping i bet you this is it.

Mr. Tacos brought up my "$20 ring" I paid $25 to get sized... and that reminded me I haven't seen it in a while. I always kept those in my jewelry box, but to be certain I checked around the counter, under the microwave, under the couch, in my makeup case, in my purse, in my car, at work, under the bed, inside the drawer, EVERYWHERE. I need to check the suitcase I brought with me to Christmas, but I am 99.9% sure I wore the ring at the airport.
So while it *might* be good planning on his part, it's also possible I lost it! I never lose jewelry though!
Here's hoping I... find it?
