How ironic, a friend of mine just left on a country-wide road trip to California as well!

I love your ideas..wet wipes are a must! Do they like any certain kind of snacks? Like cheez-its, trail mix, pretzels..etc. Easy enough food for snacking but not too greasy as to mess up their video games ๐Ÿ˜‰

Maybe little hygiene packs as well (if they’ll be doing a lot of driving and not a lot of stopping) Like those little Listerine wax-paper mouth strips? I honestly can’t remember what they’re called.. or mints, gum. Bottled water!

Good luck! I love making packages like these..so fun!

It’s not necessarily cute or funny, but some homemade cookies are always nice on a car ride. What states are they going through?

I love the cookies idea… although they probably won’t last any longer than it takes for them to get down the street!.. as for ANY food you give them. lol

Love the little hygiene stuff and yea WATER! =)

Ah shoot. I was hoping you’d say South Dakota instead of Nebraska. I could’ve given you some suggestions because South Dakota’s attractions are often on the interstate, whereas Nebraska’s coolest attractions are a little more off the beaten path.

Well, Nebraska has Ash Falls Park, and the Henry Doorly Zoo (actually they should do this one because it IS close to the interstate and is a must see), Rock Creek Station and Homestead National Park, Chimney Rock and the wagon ruts near Scottsbluff, the Car Henge near Alliance, NE, a giant Cabela’s near Sydney, North Platte has some things featuring Buffalo Bill Cody’s past, the Edgerton Explorit Center near Aurora, NE…

South Dakota has the prehistoric Indian site near Mitchell, Corn Palace in Mitchell, the Cosmos and Reptile Gardens near Rapid City, Wall Drug near Wall, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, and the D.C. Booth Fish Hatchery spread out through the Black Hills.

There are more places, but these were off the top of my head.

I cannot stand sleeping in cars! I hope they have a big car or don’t mind cuddling…haha.

If they’re going through Chicago, have them stop by Navy Pier! Great place and it’s tons of fun. Also get a deep-dish pizza..yum!

Quick question though- what are ketchup chips? I’ve never heard of them and they sound incredibly delicious…. ๐Ÿ™‚

@farmgirl2106: Homemade cookies! Genius and those definitely wouldn’t last long, haha.

Some emergency cones.. (just in case lol).. a disposable camera.. (you never know).. travel phone charger.. just off the top of my head ๐Ÿ™‚ let me know if you need more ideas!

@teacherandageek: Ketchup chips are delicious. They have an artificial ketchup flavour and are my favourite. You must try them.
