My Filipino Scottish Wedding in the South!

posted 4 months ago in Pics

We were married on May 24th in sunny Pensacola, Florida! It was a beautiful day with our friends and family, and we couldn't have been happier with how it turned out. Check out our pictures for a mash-up of our cultures (kilts and barongs!), pink, brown, DIY, and even '70s kitshy wedding decor my dear grandmother threw in!

Click to view our pro pictures by Heather Ahrens!

And on my blog: it's cool to see how non-pro pics looked of wedding as well! (I'm glad we had a professional, seriously.)

Danke!

Thanks for sharing! The photos are beautiful! Who's the designer of your dress??? I feel like I tried one that looks like that before but it did not look so nice on me.

Thanks, everyone! I actually have NO idea who made my dress! It was purchased a month before the wedding because my grandmother dispised my first one, and it sadly had no tags on it. :/ If anyone has a clue, do tell!

hello there...i am a filipina bride to be too,i love the idea that your family wore the barong. Did you do all the filipino customs such as veil, cord, candle and arrhae????

your wedding was very beautiful...congratulations!!!

Justinsgirl- we did the veil, cord, and arrhae during the ceremony, and had my aunts and uncles act as the sponsors. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to light candles in the church! We lit candles at the reception instead.

What kind of plates and silverware did you use on the tables? It looks adorable!

Avocado- My grandfather insisted that we use plastic plates and cups because we could not afford people to clean up the real stuff afterwards. I ended up turning the otherwise "bleh" situation into an enviromentally friendly one. The plates and flatware were purchased at Party at Lewis, along with recycled dinner napkins and corn cold cups from Biodegradable Store. It was hard to find something stylish that would match the wedding AND be eco-friendly. I added in chop sticks that I picked up at an Asian store two days before the wedding just in case the wodden fork did not work (which was a good idea, because those forks were hard to pick up anything!).
