Omg. How could they not be adorable with those baby pictures on them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the idea of the baby photos, its exactly what I would do! Fabulous! You did a great job with them!!!!!!!!!!!
VERY cute! well done :)
hey, based on Mrs Champagne / Mrs Cupcake, i think DIY is possible for formal weddings too!
They look great. The baby pictures adds a personal touch. Love 'em!
Where did you get the rubber stamp?? I love this idea. I am still trying to decide mine.
Very cute! Love them! I forgot where I saw the Flickr image before that was your inspiration, but I loved them then too! :)
THANKS for all the kind words, Bees!! It was super fun to make them and I can't wait to start on my next DIY project!
@Lizabeth Lou I ordered stamps from rubberstampchamp.com. I ordered two different return address stamps - one in block letters and one in script. I uploaded pictures of the return addresses I had created, which they then converted into rubber stamps. Alternateively, you can use the fonts they have on their website. It was $8.75 per stamp with free shipping for orders over $10. They arrived within a week - I'd recommend them!
OMG!!! WAY CUTE!!! If I would have seen these before I did mine, I would totally steal your idea!!!
Great job!!!
I love these! Especially the 3-D effect of the baby pictures. The envelope liners are beautiful as well. I just like the whole package!
wheresmydessert, this may be a silly question...but how did you make the envelope liners? They ARE super cute!
@sydney61110 I don't have pictures on my computer right now, but I'll try to take some when I line some more envelopes so I can post them! Here are the basic instructions:
1. Make an envelope liner template for your envelope size (I believe they sell templates as well, but I just made one out of a file folder - any cardstock will do). It takes a bit of measurement and trial and error to get the template the right size, but once you do, it's smooth sailing! It should look like a "house" shape. Supplies: Cardstock, pencil, scissors, ruler
2. Trace the template onto the back side of the paper you wish to use for your liner. Make sure the liner paper isn't too thick! Supplies: liner paper, template, pencil
3. Cut the traced shape out very carefully! (I used scissors, but a paper cutter might have been easier). Supplies: liner paper, scissors or paper cutter
4. Slip the liner pattern side up into the envelope. Putting one hand on the outside of the envelope, and using a bone folder on the inside of the envelope, fold both the liner and the envelope flap down, to set the liner fold. Supplies: your hands, the envelope, the liner, bone folder
5. Fold the liner flap down and put adhesive (I used roll-on adhesive made by Scotch, I believe) on the two edges (the "roof" of the house). Supplies: Roll-on adhesive
6. Press the envelope flap onto the liner flap and voila! Lined envelopes!

After seeing these adorable save-the-dates featured on the Weddingbee blog:

I knew I wanted to create something similar! Our wedding is going to be pretty formal, probably with invitations to match, so I really wanted to have fun with the Save The Dates. Additionally, I'm toying with the idea of DIY-ing invitations, so this was a good chance to practice using the Gocco, creating and pasting envelope liners, rubber stamping and embossing.
I'm so glad they came out okay! Thoughts?
