I posted this in DIY, but I think I need a little convincing from the boards on this one… It didn’t turn out how I imagined- all puffy and soft and beautiful. Instead it is kind of choppy and uneven.
I am thinking about putting some purple or brown flowers scattered around ball to add a little more color and uniqueness. What do you think??
It is hard to tell in the picture, but that is brown ribbon.

Hmmm… I have written and re-written this post. I just want to be as nice as possible.
I think for your first one, it looks nice! Is it super fluffy like other tule ones I have seen, unfortunatly no. BUT that doesn’t mean it looks bad!!
Could you stick your fingers in there and separate the tulle a bit?
Even if you don’t, it does look cool! It’s unique!

@tranquility: I tried to fluff it with my fingers as much as possible. I think I put the pieces of tulle in too close together making it tight and hard rather than light and fluffy. Next time I will spread them out to make them a little more fluffy.
Thanks for the suggestion, I know I need a little help on this one 😉

I don’t think it looks choppy as you say. In the first photo it actually kind of looks like feathers. If you don’t like the texture then it sounds like you have a good direction to go for next time. Could you try gently shaping it with some scissors?

I think it looks great, even if you throw in some white and maybe have it a little longer, I think that will make it really “pop”!

I love it!! I’m DIY-stupid, and I’m so jealous of everyone else’s awesome homemade pomanders. I have had a styrofoam ball and a few packages of cupcake liners in a bag for weeks now, and I just keep thinking…this is going to be a terrible idea……….
