So I have never considered myself even remotely crafty. But I fell in love with the combination silk flower/brooch bouquets on Etsy, and was heartbroken to find how expensive they were. So I decided to make my own! It’s not totally finished…I hope to add more broaches as I collect them, and I will probably wrap the stems in satin so that it looks more polished. But so far, I’m pretty pleased! Tell me what you think!! 🙂 This is really my first attempt at any “craft,” so be gentle. 😉

Uh, that is awesome!!!
How much did it cost to make?
I really want to make my own as well… can you share a tutorial?

@Anna10-05-2014: Well I had literally NOTHING at my house for crafting so I spent a decent bit of money. I had to buy shears, needle-nose pliers, floral wire, floral tape, tulle, ribbon, etc. So with all that stuff, plus the silk flowers, plus the brooches, I think I spent a little over $100.
Next time I will be able to do it for a lot cheaper because whereas I bought a few of my brooches at a vintage resale shop for $10-$15 apiece, I found this website http://www.fabulousbrooch.com/, and they are WAY cheaper there! Around $3 each!
So if you’re a little more savvy than I did you can probably do it for even less!
I did splurge on nice flowers because I wanted them to look nice and as “real” as possible. Still a lot better than the $300 ones on Etsy! 🙂

@Anna10-05-2014: Oh, I watched this tutorial, but I ended up doing mine pretty differently because I wanted flowers and brooches, not all brooches. But her technique for attaching wire to the brooches is really useful no matter what you end up doing. So I recommend watching that one.

@laureneliz87: Oooooh I really do like it! I don’t normally like them because I feel that they’re not cohesive sometimes, but I like the simplicity of this.

I think you did an amazing job… how pretty!!!!!!!!!! I did the flowers and brooches as well and initially I was going to try and do it myself.. but I said forget it and paid somebody to do it for me. I ended up paying $124 for my bouquet and my MOA as well as my cake topper. It was so worth it.

@laureneliz87: Just wanted to say that I prefer the mix of brooches and flowers over just brooches. It seems less harsh and structured
