This was my first DIY project. I didn’t think I was the crafty type, but I think they turned out really good. I am going to line the aisle with these kissing balls, every other row. The pic makes the red hydrangaes look much darker than they are. They actually have touches of bright red and touches of darker red.

I used a 4 inch styrofoam ball, wrapped a ribbon around it twice, crisscrossed, slipped the black ribbon through the crisscrossed ribbon and tied a knot. Moved the knot so it would be hidden by the flowers. Used a hot glue gun to insert the flowers. The key was the flowers I used. They sell these hydrangaes at Hobby Lobby, if you cut 1/2 to 1 inch below where each little bundle of flowers meets, you don’t have to worry about inserting the flowers at different heights, they will be the same height all the way around.

Wow, those turned out awesome!! I love those things. I think they’re a fun, easy, and cheap DIY that are a great decoration for any occasion. I’m going to make some for my wedding. 🙂
