Okay. I need some feedback. When don't I need some feedback? But I trust you bees, and know that you'll help me out.
I don't live near my parents, but went up for a week. Four days with J (long weekend) and three days after he left. On Wednesday, my mom and I went dress shopping. For six and a half hours. At three stores. I tried on close to 70 dresses, I would guess. Yep, you read that right.
I'm not stylish. I don't dress up. I'm not the girl who dreamt of her wedding from age seven. I have no freaking idea what I want in a dress, except that I don't want it to be sparkly - so most beading is out. Otherwise, I was willing to try on anything.
About half of the ones I felt were 'photo worthy' are out of my price range -- which is $400 including alterations, if anyone is keeping track -- but there's a chance I'll have a dress made in China (I live there most of the year), so I guess I can work with that.
Here they are, in no particular order... let me know what you think!
I didn't get even remotely emotional, despite everyone telling me that the first time you put a wedding dress on, something magical is supposed to happen (kind of disappointed, because now I have to choose a dress, haha, if I'd cried, it would've been easier). SO I need your help in deciding which styles look best on me, if one of these is worth buying, or if I should keep looking (and if so, where?).
I know, I'm resizing them. :) I haven't figured out iPhoto yet (*slap on the wrist - bad mac user!*)

I like the third one in the first set of pictures and I adore the second one in the second set of pictures.
i love the second one on you, its soooo cute... its different, not the typical wedding dress (which is what im tryin to stay away from myself) =)
I really like dresses 3, 6, and 7! You look great in all of those and I'm surprised that you could get them for that price...if so, that's awesome!
Wow that's a lot of dresses! You look beautiful in so many it's hard to choose. I think that you look great in the v neck style. I particularly like #3 with just the detailing under the bust. It's simple but elegant. They are all so different so I think you just need to think more about what you'd like to wear lace, beading, etc ... If you are thinking of getting it made in China then you can incorporate elements from all these dresses.

I think the 4th is adorable on you. I love the fit and the structure of the dress, and I think your short hair only makes it better! Just my opinion. Do any of them feel like "you"?
P.S. I did'nt cry or get emotional when I found my dress, I just felt beautiful, elegent and giddy :) I think your reaction depends on your personality.
I typically LOVE v-neck styles but I loved #4 and #7, the spaghetti strap (which I NEVER choose but I think it looks great on you) and the strapless with the inverted pleats in the skirt. Runners up for me would be 1 and 3. Really, you're lucky because so many of them look great!
I love 2,4 and 7. 2 is definitely my fave because it's so flattering and different. THe only one I don't like is the last one in the second set, and it's not you, it's just I think that style looks night-gownish.
I like #s 2, 3 and 5 of the first set. I think they looked awesome with your figure. Great pics!
Oh! #2 and #5 in the second set are also great...as is #1 in the 3rd set. What type of wedding are you having? Venue? Colors? Atmostphere?
Okay, I am confused about the #'s, but from the first post (the way I see them) I love #3 and #4, from the second post I love #2 and from the third I love #1.
I tried on so many dresses, almost bought a dress twice (like had appointments to get measured and make a deposit), had several meltdowns about whether they were right for me, got depressed that I might never find what I was looking for and finally saw my dream dress on another bride during an appointment I made at Priscilla of Boston to try on a totally different dress. Got all that? But basically, I narrowed it down by what shape looked best on me, what material I wanted and the 'dressy' factor which is what knocked out the first two dresses I almost bought. They weren't dressy enough for my formal ballroom even though I LOVED them and they looked amazing on me.
I like 4, 7, and 10...with 4 being my favorite on you. The design is a little different but still bridal and I think it would be fab with your short hair.
I think 7 looks the best on you! But I like (and voted for) 2,4,7 and 15!
there was something about dress 11, it really shows off your figure and just looks great on you!
You look great in these dresses, but if I had to choose, I really like 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7 on you. I think they flatter your figure well.
Definately 11!!!! It fits like a glove and hugs your curves so well. Looks like you had fun playing dress up!
I think 7 is the most flattering on you! I also voted for 5 because it seemed like you like straps and of the ones with straps that was my favorite on you. Then I voted for 15 because it was beautiful and different and very flattering on you. I think it depends on what look you are going for because 15 is very different from some of the others.
Personally I like 1, 3, 5 and 15 and I think they look GORGEOUS on you!
I LOVEEEEEE #4!!! I love simple wedding dresses, and that ones compliments you so good!!!!
My favorites on you are 3, 5, 10 and 12. That probably doesn't help too much, but they all look really good on you!
4 10 and 11 those dresses hug your curve, it really look nice on you
I like 4, 8 , 11 I think they look the most flattering on , but between all three I think 4 and 11 are tops!
For me, the most striking one on you was number 15. It just seems to fit perfectly, is elegant but not over-the-top in any way, and looked amazing. The cap sleeves are sweet, too.
I love #7 on you - I looked at all of them slowly and that one just popped out at me. Really pretty - I also like #11 with all the "wrapping" but #7 is my fave on you!!

You look great in so many of these dresses-- that's why the votes are so split! #15 is my favorite on you-- I just love love love that dress. #11 is also amazing for your figure, but I think you have the type of body that can really wear any wedding dress... so the decision is going to be rougher for you. Good luck! Were you comfortable in any of these dresses? Were there any that you kept on longer than the others, and moved around more in? When I went dress shopping, I noticed that I would move around a lot in the ones I really liked, like walk around the shop and stuff.

@jephi, I don't want to say which ones I'm leaning toward, because I don't want to bias the voting (I really have trouble with clothes, haha) and want honest opinions. I will say though that the ones I liked best in the store are NOT the same ones I liked best once I got home and looked at the pictures.
If I had to order a dress today, I would pick one that I probably spent close to the least time in. I put it on and automatically was like, "Eh, I don't like xyz" and took it off. I don't know if I really looked at myself or not. I think that was about the point where the girl next to me (and her entire cheering squad) all burst into tears over one of the thousand pick-ups/strapless/ruched bodice with beading dresses she put on. They all looked identical to me, haha, so it was frustrating that she was so decisive while my mom sat by and flipped through the catalog and said almost nothing.
Personally, I'm DIGGING #4 and #7.
But, I think #4 would be WAY BETTER if you could get it embellished. I would die to see some crystals on the neckline and a flower or bridal belt sash (sparkle!) on the waist line. Otherwise, it looks like a summer dress gone long. Possibly b/c i have a blue Gap dress that has that. Exact. Shape. Complete with criss cross back. But the fit is DYNAMITE on you. And #7 is just really pretty and a unique flair on a 'traditional' princess shape. I really like that one, too!

So I love #11 and #15.... Mostly because #15 was the dress I wore! But those are the ones I thought you looked best in, they were definitley flattering to your figure. Good luck with your search!
