I would contact Etsy, that sounds like boarderline extortion and I am sure that is against their ToS.

That sucks! Did you request a lot of changes/additions? Even so, she should have told you during ordering. What is her reasoning? Can you post the message?

She needs to come to a resolution, because Etsy sellers live and die on feedback, and you can give her feedback since you already bought. If you changed the request since ordering, then the increase may be fair. But either way, as the customer, you hold the power. Does Etsy have a dispute resolution process? You can always dispute with Paypal too.

Bummer!

@Tangled:  If you paid through Pay Pal, I’d file a claim immediately.  If it’s a credit card, then have them stop payment and let them intercede.  Then I’d look for a different bracelet from a better vendor.

I just went and looked – that was that gorgeous cuff on the splurge thread! Noooo! I noticed you ordered it smaller actually, which you would think would be cheaper. Did she have trouble sourcing the right size cuff and it is more expensive? Did she miscalculate something? I just can’t imagine why she would risk her reputation on this!!

Is she offering a refund if you don’t want to pay?

@Tangled:  OMG. Horrible!!! As the buyer you can respond negatively on the reviews. Did she give you a reason for the $25 dollar increase??

I’d contact Etsy/Paypal and your CC….

It sounds like you did the right thing. I totally get your frustration! Jewelry shopping is tough to get the perfect item and having your hopes up for so long and then getting that would be such a letdown. You get to whine about that a little!

Frankly, I am a mean amf spiteful person because I’d probably neg her even after she refunds.

No you’re not being a whiny brat, I’d be upset too.  I’d totally vote for still leaving negative feedback, but I’m not sure you can on etsy if the purchase has been cancelled…

Do a google image search? Maybe something similar will pop up.
