I resize a couple of different ways.  One is to upload it to my blog and then download it from there.  It resizes automatically.  Or you can host on photobucket and choose the size you want to upload to here.  If you have MacMail, you can email it to yourself and it will resize automatically.  If you have photoshop, you can resize it there (or in GIMP).
