@DarlingClementine:  The first wedding band we purchased was like that. We got it online so I wasn’t able to try it first. I found it uncomfortable to wear, like it was digging into my fingers, but that’s just me. My current one just has the diamonds on top and it’s very comfortable.

I have a pave band and *so far* (knocking on wood) have had no problems with it.  I am going to take it in soon to be redipped (rhodium) and the prongs checked, just to be sure.  Love mine, its very delicate and with just the right amount of sparkle!

I don’t feel my pave side stones at all. Theyve never fallen out so far (thank goodness). I have one gf whose pave stones have never fallen out (she’s had the ring 4-5 years and never takes it off) and another gf had pave stones fall out within a year of getting her ring. I think it might depend on the jeweler somewhat. Either way, it’s no big deal- jewelers often replace pave stones for free because they are so cheap. the only thing that catches in my hair sometimes are the prongs in my center stone- my pave is too little to do anything like that.

I’d stick with the really thin one if I were you.

@DarlingClementine:  that is really smart to leave one side plain to sit against your ering! i have never seen a wedding band like that! 🙂

@DarlingClementine:  I have pave just on top, but mine sits pretty low. I don’t notice it against my hand. Feels pretty smooth. If you get diamonds on the side, you def don’t want that against your E-ring as it will scratch the metal over time.

Here is mine, just for fun:

@DarlingClementine:  I have pave stones on my engagement ring and haven’t had issues so far (knock on wood). I’ve had it cleaned a few times at the jeweler and he’s checked the prongs to ensure they’re still in good condition. My wedding band is also larger pave stones and I was a little concerned about the banging around/popping out but the jeweler ensured me that it would be okay, and that they’re built to withstand that. Here’s my e-ring and wedding band for reference –
