It's okay. That happens to me too! Denied picture size, etc.
Those penguins are ADORABLE. For future reference, Sculpey is much easier to work with than Fimo. Fimo tends to be difficult to warm up and work with. :)
Wow, for not being crafty, your cake topper is better then anything I can do! I think you can officially call yourself a crafty person :)
Wow.. your toppers are adorable! I agree with AnnieAAA, I don't think you can classify yourself as "not a very crafty person" and pull that off! :)
Great job!
The cupcake stand is awesome, can you tell us how you made it?
The topper is ADORABLE!
The penguins are so cute!! And your stand looks great.. I'm not sure how you get off saying you're not very crafty!
For your first DIY project...I'd say that they're a hit! Good job. Keep up the good work, and put a tutorial up, if you like. You did a great job!
Both are great, but the penguins are adorable! Great job. You could go into business!
ok you are a big fat liar saying you arent a grafty gal because those are gorgeous!! I love the penguins!!
I love them!! I think you've inspired me. I'm going to try some, hopefully the can come out looking half as cute as yours.
Wow thank you everybody for your kind words I so wasn't expecting that many. I just was rather proud that they worked out at all.
I would post a tutorial but for the penguins I'm still not really sure how I made them, I just played around with the fimo like it was play dough, and for the veil popped onto etsy to see how the experts had done it and errr borrowed a few ideas. I highly recommend anyone having a go the stuff is really easy to use though I would recommend making sure you have some basic tools and alcohol for cleaning the stuff off of you fingers.
The cake stand was super easy
I stole the basic idea from here

Except instead of the wooden cake boards I used several precut cardboard ones glued together as I wanted to keep the stand light, it has worked out plenty strong enough. You can get these in a range of sizes.
If I'd really wanted to save money I could have cut up cardboard boxes to do this but I can't cut a circle to save my life and Hobby Lobby was having a cake decorating sale the week I was in there. I used hot glue to hold on the green ribbon around the edges and the brown is held on with pearl headed pins.
For the centre I used polysterene glued together and wrapped in ribbon, you could easily cover it in coloured cardstock or scrapbooking papers too. As all the components were on sale I spent just under $15 all up on everything except the hot glue gun to make it. So it pays to shop around.

I am not a very crafty person and have just finished making our cake toppers & cupcake stand for the reception and as everyone I know is at work I have no one to show them off to so I thought I'd post them here.
The cake toppers in the picture are not 100% finished as I have to give them a light sand, it is the first time I have worked with fimo/polyclay so it was a definate challenge to figure out how to make what I wanted. They are penguins because my FH collects penguin related toys.
I am rather pleased how the cupcake stand turned out as I managed to make it for only $15 all up, though taking a photo of it on my washing machine was probably not the best location.
