So, I have seen a lot of posts on My Fitness Pal lately, and I'm really loving it.
I had a question though- on the daily summary there is a pie chart that says I should be eating 55% carbs, 15% protein, 30% fats. Does anyone do that? I just don't see any way to get 30% fats unless I am eating fast food which is the wrong kind of fats. Also, does 15% protein seem low to anyone else? I have heard that most Americans get too much protein but if 15% is the guideline I can see why. I mean, I am usually over 15% and that's quite a feat considering the only meat I eat is chicken and I don't like any kind of dairy products including cheese. Quite a few days go by when I don't eat any meat at all, yet I am still always over.
My friend met with a nutritionist and the nutritionist recommended 33% across the board. I already know that can't happen for me because getting down to 55% carbs is hard enough. Maybe that is just for people who work out a lot?
Also, is anyone else having a really hard time staying under the sugar gram limit? I get 24 g a day and yesterday I ate a large Gala apple that took up 20 sugar grams! In order to stay under I have had to cut down to one serving of fruit a day and I used to eat at least 3-4, and now only eat cereal for breakfast 1-2 times a week.
So now, I have to manage to eat a dinner that is moderate in calories, high in fat grams, moderate in carbs, and low in protein. I couldn't even begin to guess what that would involve.
