So it had been decided we we're going to have our wedding in my future sister-in-laws backyard which is pretty spacious and pretty and also fit our outdoor nature-vintage theme very well. But something GREAT yet BAD in a way came up.

My Fiance works in a historic theater which is used for concerts and big event called "THE POMONA FOX THEATER" and they just offered it to us for our wedding for FREE. It's a gorgeous vintage theater but the only problem is that we have our church ceremony set in the city of San Bernardino were our backyard wedding was also going to take place and which is like 45min away from Pomona.

I think it will be a HUGE hazzle and waste of time to have the guest and ourselves drive all the way up there and then right back down here to Pomona again.

    What should I do Bee's????

Here's some pictures of the venue....

I would stick with the original plan and have it in your FSIL's backyard - since both options are free, and you already have the church booked in your hometown, it seems like the hassle-free way to go!

    Congratulations and very nice.

I would move the ceremony to where the reception will be, if at all possible.

45 minutes is not too long/ far away and that venue is beautiful. I would do it!

Could you rent a big bus to take everyone in one fell swoop? A friend of mine did that, and it turned out to be a lot of fun! :-)

Then afterward, the bus took everyone back... plus it shuttled back and forth a few times, for people who wanted to leave earlier.

Wow, I think the theatre is great! Even if both of your venues are free, maybe the theatre can be more convenient in some ways (I'm thinking about bathrooms?). If I were your guest I wouldn't mind driving 45 min to spend time in such a cool place.

I actually don't feel like the San Bernadino/ Pomona drive is THAT bad. It's not a long 45 minutes.... IMO.

The theatre looks lovely.  Most people won't mind driving for 45 minutes and on top of that, it's your day and therefore, you should go with what you want to experience and have as memories.  The other option, would be to move your ceremony to a closer location, which might be doable and not too expensive.

Congrats!! Great venue and I think it will lessen the possibility of any conflict with FSIL...I would definitely consider moving ceremony or getting bus like mr. bee suggested...keep us posted!!

I would stick with your first option. You don't want to inconvenience your guests too much.

If you can't move the location of the church (not physically, like select another)... then stay with plan A.  The theater is beautiful, but it willl upset guests to have to travel to the reception site after the ceremony.

We've attended many weddings where we had to drive FAR from the church to the reception.  We didn't mind and no one else seem to either.  It's your day!

I think that the Fox Theatre looks amazing.  I live in Orange County and I checked out their website to see more pics.  It looks beautiful!  Congrats!  I am so jealous. :)

aroosa yea the theater is newly renovated, its berly going to be a year in April. They've also never had a wedding there and well hopefully we'll be the first wedding in the history of the theater lol.

If anybody lives in the area, go to their website and check it out, maybe you'll love it for your own wedding Laughing
