I am beyond devistated. She found out on friday and has had pitocin ever since and cant seem to have enough strength to progress in labor. We are hoping they dont do a c section because they woul do it vertically and that would mean she cant have anymore babies. I ask for Prayers and Good vibes for my friend Kara, her baby Alivia and her family. please share this , they are hurting really badly right now.
[link removed per fundraising policy – SO sorry!]

That is so sad! Prayers and positive energy are being sent!
However, I am curious as to why a vertical C-section would mean no more kids. My Mom had vertical C-sections and went on to have 6 kids total AFTER the 1st C-section.

@trueblue14: I was wondering that too.
And why are they seeking donations? Not asking to be mean, just curious.

@Glasgowbound: This…is it for burial costs?

What a horrible situation. I’m sending my positive thoughts their way… Stay strong, they are going to need your support in the coming weeks!

A vertical C section would only preclude VBAC (vaginal birth after ceserean), not another C section. This is part of the reason that many hospitals will not allow a woman who has had ceserean progress to natural labor unless they have an operative report indicating that the previous section was not vertical.
That all having been said, my sympathies are with your friend, particularly after having recently lost a much wanted baby at 9 weeks myself.

I’m sorry for your friend’s loss.
Echoing what other bees have said even after a vertical c section a woman can sitll have another baby. My aunt did, she had to deliver by c section though and have the baby a couple weeks early to ensure she didn’t go into labour.

I think so, based on the content of the website at least.
“We’re asking for donations for her parents, Kara and Corey, during this difficult time as they make their daughter’s final arrangements and cope during this time in their lives.”

@pearlsandpeonies: all funeral homes I know of do not charge for funeral costs for babies under 1 year of age or perinatal deaths. A close friend should look into this for them. My condolences.

@Glasgowbound: First off the mother did not set up the donation site, we her friends did. Because we knew she wouldnt be able to go back to work right away to give the proper time to grieve, Im also not sure of the exact details but there are some costs on her end for the funeral. She also been in the hospital for 4 days now and still hasnt had her, im assuming she will be in for a few more days.
