We just found out yesterday.
Sunday night he went to the ER and was diagnosed with pneumonia. He has been in the hospital since. A biopsy confirmed the cancer and we also found out he has an infection in his heart.
My grandpa is 83-years-old and is the father to 14 children. He’s had one heck of a life.
He refused treatment. They’ll get him well enough to go home and he’ll live out the rest of his days hopefully pain-free (thanks to modern medicine) and he’ll go when God is ready for him.
I can’t think of a better man. He’s very loving and forgiving and I hope we get to enjoy his company just a little while longer.
I’m really going to miss his laugh and remember the way he used to tease me when I was a little girl.

Aww im sorry to hear your sad news. My grandad was a great man but unfortunately he passed away a few years ago now, I had always dreamed of him being at my wedding but unfortunately that wont happen, i just take ease i knowing he will be watching, from the best seat in the house.
On a more recent note I can kinda relate to what you are going throug now, unfortunately my mum has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and isnt too well but she is getting by. My wedding is in two weeks and she will be there, which I am so grateful for.
I am sorry this has happened to you. My thoughts are with you and your family.

I’m very sorry to hear your news, I know exactly what you’re going through. My grandfather passed away in February from a 3 year battle with Colon Cancer. I was his only grandchild, so I always dreamed of him being at my wedding… but he’ll be there in spirit now. It’s hard, but my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I’m so sorry to hear about your grandfather. My grandfather passed away last year very suddenly, I know how hard it is. Treasure every moment you have together, my heart goes out to you and your family.

so sorry. I hope you can get through this…you might be glad that he won’t be going through too much pain and suffering……I mean, my own grandpa passed from emphysemia of the lungs…and that’s a long, slow process….I think he caught pnemonia beforehand too……however emphysemia suffocates the person and they end up really suffering in pain for years upon years. He was so embarrassed he refused to see my dad(his son) or my family(grandchildren) for many years before he died. So sad.
