Aww that's so sweet....I remember an ex used to get the meals so that I could get Hello Kitty toys!
I think you can just buy the toys separately as well (if I remember right) We did this for my aunt when she was collecting the Beanie Baby ones.
haha, that's super cute. i get happy meals when i want nuggets. the nugget mini meals for grown ups only come with 4 nuggets and that, quite frankly, is not enough!
@ hotchild - probably so, but (and I know it's awful & not that healthy) but he eats McD's practically every work day for lunch (usually a McChicken sandwich though, if that helps?) so he just goes ahead & gets a meal to get them.
And no, it's not because I'm a horrible wife & won't pack a lunch for him. He LOVES McD's. He would have a cow if I told him he couldn't eat there every day!
@ tea - I had a mighty kids nugget meal for lunch. They have SIX nuggets & a small fry & it's quite filling :)
*PLUS I got the GREEN BOY chipmunk* - he couldn't get it for me cuz he's off today. He got me the other 3 though ;)
@okqueenbee, that's what i get when i want nuggets! i don't know why they won't let the grown ups get 6 nuggets. i mean, it's basically a glorified happy meal without a toy. i'd rather spend an extra buck for 2 more nuggets and a toy. hahaha
@ tea - Seriously? They will only give you FOUR nuggets?! We get 6 here. I guess they don't downsize for adults. We get the toy too :)
I always order happy meals lol. FI and I got all excited bc we got Avatar toys the other night. I guess they ran out of Chipmunks? It's totally sweet that he would get the correct toy for you.
@ tea - a mini meal? I don't think they have those here... They have what are called Mighty Kids Meals & are actually the same thing as a happy meal except BIGGER (you can get 6 piece nuggets or a double cheeseburger) instead of the regular happy meals..
Hmm... a mini meal? I'm going to have to look for those next time O_o
*Note* Maybe that's why OKC is in the top list of unhealthiest cities in the US! We offer SUPER-SIZE kids meals!

You can buy the toys without getting the meal. 
I'll do that every now and then we they have something really cool. The toy itself is cheaper than the meal.

a couple of years ago when i was in NJ visiting my cousin, they had A Mighty Kids Meal there too! First time I've ever seen it and the last. They don't have those around these parts :-P
@okqueenbee, gotcha. yeah we have regular happy meals and mighty kids meals for the kids with the toys. i get the mighty kids meals when i want nuggets since they have six nuggets like you said.
the mini meals are smaller value meals. they come with either a double cheeseburger, 4 nuggets or a mcchicken and small fries and small drink. i get the mini meals [the burger] to cut down on calories. that way i can enjoy a mcdonald's meal without all the fast food guilt!

and I am TOTALLY the kind of person to buy the toy if I really like it and skip the meals...I only go in there for coffee...and fries once every 6 months or so ;)

...to get me the chipmunk toys!!!!!
Isn't that the cutest thing EVER? A grown man holding up the line in McDonalds while he politely explains to the barely English-speaking register person that he needs the GREEN GIRL chipmunk because we already have the red one (alvin) & the purple one (brittney).
I know, you all must be gagging by now, but I just had to post this!
Note: I am not a complete dork. I thought I would hate the first movie when it came out. Thought it would be totally stupid (animated talking chipmunks in a realistic world?) but we went and saw it & loved it! It was cute & very funny. So, when the Squeakquel came out I was equally excited. THEN I discovered they had the toys at McD's & I really wanted the green ones, so his mission for the past week has been to get them for me.
Just had to brag.
