I just wanted you all to share in the good news that I just received my invitations and I ordered them from Costco! They are WONDERFUL & AMAZING and the quality looks like I paid a ton for them. They are so cheap in fact (cost me $1.13/each for a square 6 1/4 x 6 1/4 raised lettering invitation) that I had them ordered from Costco and bought pocketfolds to mount them on! So it is SEMI-DIY!
But my question to you is, I need to buy envelopes (the ones that came with the invitations I cannot use anymore because I am mounting them on a larger pocketfold), but I don’t know what size to buy. The pocketfolds are 6 1/2 x 6 1/2, so do I buy an outter envelope that is 7×7 OR 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 in size?
I NEED YOUR HELP!

congrats on getting your invites!
are you enclosing wedd-related info – like a map, "things to do" while you’re in town type of inserts, day-after brunch info, etc??
maybe buy one of each size from a stationary store and see how your 6.5 x 6.5 fits in there with all your inserts (if any)???
also – dont forget square envelopes need more postage…

I don’t have any inserts other than that rsvp card. So should I stick to the 7×7?

Sounds like 7 x 7 should work for you. As Anti-Zilla says, the only reason you might need larger would be if you have a thick stack of cardstock to put in the envelope. The larger size would probably give you too much extra space in the envelope, and as a result the corners might get beat up in mailing.

The trick I used was to look on http://www.mygatsby.com ‘s website and look at the sizes they put together. You can look at the mix ‘n match invites they put together with a 6×6 pocket fold and see what envelope size they use for the set. They also show the different size inserts they would sell to make the invitation. Then you can sneak off a good size for your insert without having to re-invent the wheel! Good luck!

I got mine a http://www.envelopemall.com They have a bunch of square ones!
Also they were WAY inexpensive – no need to pay a ton for envelopes after you did such a good job saving cash-ola on the invites themself.
My invites were 6 and a quater, the envelopes were 6 and a half.
Fit perfectly with no sliding around.

I just ordered online from thepapermillstore.com my envelopes. They were even cheaper compared to envelopemall.com
Envelopemall was selling them for about .25 cents each, thepapermill was selling them for about .16 cent. And my RSVP card was only .06 cents.
This is a good place to buy envelopes only if you are buy in increments of 250 cause that’s the smallest amount.
