Today I was supervisor at my job in retail. I work in a supermarket. At the service desk there are 3 registers – an express lane, the refund till and a trolley lane. One of my bright young girls was working the express lane and she asked if it was okay to pack the bread on top of the bananas. Her customer looked her dead in the eye and said “If you do that I’ll have to kill you.” Um, WHAT?! She didn’t tell me for a few minutes (at least until after he left) and I was absolutely fuming. I asked her if she was okay. She’s an absolute trooper, she was fine but a little shocked. She said he definitely wasn’t joking. No smile, no joking tone, no nothing. Just absolute deadpan. Unbelievable!

TV news is filming at my job literally right now.  My boss and my field of research have been pretty hot lately so this happens every few months.  I used to think it was exciting, but today I just stayed home from work because I want to avoid the commotion and actually get things done.

@KsoontobeN:  She’s very chill. It sort of shocked her but I was more worried about it than she was. She’s a really good friend of mine so I sort of got my back up for a bit there, haha. She’s fine now, she was laughing about it maybe 15 minutes later, where I was still ready to jump the counter and go find this bloke lol. We get a lot of crazy stuff happening to us so that’s just one to add to the list!

@KsoontobeN:  Melanoma research!  My boss was very involved in the clinical trials for a recently approved drug in the field so he is pretty hot right now.

A couple weeks ago, a film crew shot a commercial in our department at the hospital I work at. It was mayhem!!!!! A

Nothing interesting has happened that recently. The most recent for me, which was this summer, was when Morgan Freeman was appearing at my theatre to accept some sort of recognition from a charity. I was working at the backstage entrance that day, and had to have one of the external security come and give me a short briefing. I did get to see him up close, but I didn’t talk to him.

@KsoontobeN:  I’m an ER nurse. One of our regulars had a psychotic episode in which they came flying out of their room, naked as a jaybird, on all fours, barking. They wound up biting several people in the ensuing struggle to get them back to bed.

This is why I always tell people not to go to the ER unless it’s truly AN EMERGENCY. Because you don’t want to wind up accidentally in the middle of that hot mess just because you couldn’t wait six more hours for urgent care to open to deal with your earache.
