I have made a few previous posts about my troubles with my kitty. At first I had no one to take care of her while I was in Texas for a month planning my wedding. Then I got word that I would have to actually move back to Texas because my hubby is going to be sent to Louisiana to clean up the gulf spill. It seemed like I couldn’t get anything to work out to keep my poor kitty and I together (My parents already have three cats and didn’t want her staying anywhere near their house).
The last few days have been amazing as far as my wedding planning is going… I also made a post about that. Little did I know my kitty had gone missing and my parents didn’t tell me as they hoped that they would find her before I found out.
Anyways back to the beginning, finally after begging and begging they agreed that she could stay here not only while I was down but also after I leave so they could babysit her as I moved my things back down. I was thrilled to say the least. Then yesterday we had a 4th of July get together with my family and one of my little cousins let her out thinking that she could go outside like the other cats. Well my kitty doesn’t know this area and had never been outside in her life… she hasn’t been here long enough to smell this place as “home”.
My parents didn’t tell me until this evening that she was gone.. my dad spent the whole day searching for her without any luck. I’m heartbroken. It seems like for the last month this cat has been destined to be gone… now she is. I just don’t understand =( I’ve been looking for her but as far as I can tell she high-tailed it. I emailed the home owners association with a picture (we live in a country club) but so far no word. That email will go out to the whole community and that gives me hope. Behind our house is a wooded area so if she went back there she probably won’t come back. My greatest hope is that she finds her way to someones house and is returned. If not I hope she finds a good home.
Gahhhh sorry this is long but I feel like I’ve lost my best buddy =( Now I am SO GLAD I didn’t listen to my hubby and get her declawed… at least she has a chance. Things were going to well too.

I’m so sorry that the cat is lost! Have you gone to the local shelters and humane society to let them know that you lost a cat fitting this description? The old standby of putting up posters on flag poles? I hope that someone finds her and returns her.

jamiemichelle, I am so so sorry for your kitty’s disappearance. I am sending hope your way that your kitty is able to find his way back to your parents, cat’s really do have a good sense for things like that, even if they’ve only been there for a short. For me, a missing pet is like a missing family member and I can only imagine the heartache you’re going through. Big hugs!!!

Oh gosh! How heartbreaking!!! I’ll echo MissAsB, start calling local shelters and humane societies! Put up posters in all your local convenience stores, grocery stores, etc. Is she chipped? Thinking of you sweetie. ((hugs))

I’m SO SORRY!! I totally know how you feel, my cat is my favorite thing other than my husband. They’re wonderful. I am sending so many good thoughts your way!! I hope she comes home to you soon!!! (((HUGS)))

Maybe she’s trying to get back where you used to live? (crazy, I know, but it does happen) I’m really really sorry 🙁

I’m so sorry! I know how scary and heartbreaking it is to lose a pet. Have you tried putting your cat’s litter box outside? I read that sometimes that helps cats find their way home.

I’m so sorry that your cat is missing. We love our pets like family members, it is an awful blow to lose one. I hope yours will return unharmed.

Oh no!! Hopefully, if she wasn’t taken to a shelter, a nice family is taking care of her. I hope you find her.

I hope everything works out for you! You did good by sending an e-mail out to the community, and please check shelters regularly to see if anyone turned her in. There’s still hope. I will pray for your lost kitty! Please keep your spirits up!

I’m checking the shelters tomorrow morning. I wish they would have told me sooner but my dad was trying to save me from complete panic like I’m in now. I just assumed she was napping all day because that is her normal routine.
Thank you for all the kind words and hopefully she finds her way back to me soon if I can’t track her down first =( I’m just praying for the best at this point.

she just came walking up…. omg! I wanted to cry! She was just outside hanging out with my parents cats and came up talking to me like “I’m staaaaaarving mommy”. I swear I would kill her if I wasn’t so relieved thats shes home!
The bad news… she isn’t fixed. FML.

YAY! I am so happy for you. I was just about to ask if she was microchipped.
PS: you can get them fixed while they’re pregnant. Essentially, they do a kitty abortion. It sounds sad, but there are so many cats without homes that need help and are alive NOW, you know? That is what 99% of shelters and rescues do.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY that shes back!!!

Yay! (get her fixed ASAP, even if it means waiting after the kittens are born if she’s pregnant)
