I say if you like it and other people don't know the difference just wait. Then again, I'm pretty lazy (and cheap) about taking care of my hair... Maybe you shouldn't take my advice. :-)
Is there a hair school near you? I get awesome highlights for about $35 all over. In fact, they did my roots and i got a hair cut for $28 yesterday b/c they were running a special.
I'm too spoiled by the Redken school to go to a real salon now! The girl I see every time is just too good to be true.
I second the suggest of finding a cosmetology school. I go to the Aveda Institute in DC and it takes longer, but the end resul is good. They always have instructors walking around too.
Since I've been saving up for the wedding I've been dying my hair myself. I just choose a color that's not that far off from my own, as opposed to when I go to the salon, I go with something a bit more drastic.
I think if *I* still liked my hair, I'd save the money and not get it done. However, I know sometimes my own hair bothers me, even when other people like it (like with the length). I tend to wait until I hate the length/color to change it up.

Alright so I have to admit this is pretty stupid, but I was wondering what you would do if you were in my place.
Last time I went to the hairdresser (cut + dye + streaks) was in April. My hair grows extremely fast hence the fact that I have 3 inches of roots!!! I know, crazy.
I was planning on going to the hairdresser and dish out another 140$ but I keep getting compliments on my hair... huh? I dont get it.
Like "Aw, you did something new to your hair? " or "You dyed your hair, it looks nice"
But I HAVE NOT GONE TO THE HAIRDRESSER IN MONTHS AND I HAVE 3 IN ROOTS.
Not to mention that Im starting to have white hair... YIKES!
So what do I do... do i spend money to get my hair done when clearly people think I just went to the hairdresser... (still dont get that)
or do I save the money and go to the hairdresser in another 2 months.
What would you do?
