When my (now) husband bought my engagement ring, they told him it was ½ a size smaller than it actually was. So, needless to say, I had it resized. Unfortunately, the band is micropave, so they ended up making it into a smaller oval instead of a smaller circle. I didn’t mind this when I was just wearing my e ring alone, and it didn’t bug me much when my wedding ring fit a little more snugly than my e ring after we got married.
But throughout the winter (as my fingers shrank) it really started to bug me. My wedding ring was fine, but my e ring spun and slid and wiggled side to side because of its odd shape. So at the end of finals for me last week, I finally decided to go back to our jeweler and ask if they could round it out more.
The jeweler my husband worked with to pick the ring was awesome, and figured out how they could round it and also size it down just a little more so the two rings fit better together. I missed my ring a lot last week (I thought I didn’t mind just wearing my wedding band, but it turns out I much prefer the extra sparkle!) but I got my e ring back today and it’s perfect!
I’m so excited they were able to round the ring without all the tiny diamonds popping out, and it’s like wearing a whole new set!
So for everyone that says you can’t resize micropave, you just have to find an amazing jeweler! And if you're not 100% happy with how your rings fit, you can always work with a good jeweler to make the set work, since you'll be wearing these rings for a long time.
I’ve got a lot of single friends, so no one outside the ‘Bee would really understand. Just had to share!
