I think it is going to look great.  You made a great executive decision to keep it.  Please post pictures of the finished product.  As far as the partial refund is concerned, I don’t know if they will do that or not, but , it doesn’t hurt to ask.

Can you ask your jeweler if they can make the band yellow gold? They can plate the white gold with yellow. Make it a yellow gold ring. Why not have your jeweler do that? Since your mom loves yellow. That is what I’d do.

And, ask for the price it costs to do that back from the other. Or 10% maybe back.

You can actually get the white gold parts electroplated or “dipped” with yellow gold.  It will wear off eventually, but it would solve the problem.

That was fast!! I remember reading your initial post not too long ago 😉 I think it’s an absolutely gorgeous ring!! The white gold in the shank is nicer than yellow gold imo. Otherwise it becomes too multicoloured. Only one part displaysyellow gold, which is appropriate and more designer-like to me 😉

Stacking the wedding bands, white and yellow, will complete the look.

I’ve had my wedding band custom-made and after many consultations, they still didn’t do what I originally wanted. The thing is I prefered what they did in the end, and was happy for their «misunderstanding» 😉

What type of center stone is being set in the design? Size?

@MrsB161718:  it turned out great.  i can’t wait to see it when the stone is set.

let your mother decide if she wants to change the band to yellow gold.

@MrsB161718:  Yea. I would let her decide for sure. I want to say it isn’t expensive to do.. Under $100 I think. But, she may like it in white gold. It is beautiful that way.

And, $20 is nothing! I would find out the price to coat it in yellow, even if she doesn’t. And, ask for that price back! Plus shipping.. $20 is very low.

@MrsB161718:  I think 20% is only fair. Honestly, that isn’t a small thing on the ring wrong. It is the whole band. They should offer more than $20.. Please..

And, I really like the idea of yellow in the “y” area!!! You have to tell me what happened when you asked the jeweler today. And, post a pic once the whole ring is done please.
