I love them just as they are! So cute!

If those are going to be in the middle of table, it will not allow people to talk to each other. We went to one wedding where they had a large centerpiece that was not clear and it bugged everyone so one guy just put it on the floor. I suggest making smaller ones or make it tall and slim with shorter strands drooping to not be at eye level.

Sorry to say, but the rose petal strands look so odd. I didn’t even realize what they were until I read your description.

The red things look like Christmas tree garlands and I agree with a PP, they will block people from seeing/talking with one another.

I think you can still work with them though because I have seen some gorgeous manzanita centerpieces in pictures from weddings.

Cory_loves_this_girl:  I didn’t know either until I read that. FI is sitting next to me and saw the pic and just said “Ewwwww, what the hell is THAT??” I told him its a centerpiece and he just said “oh hell no, please don’t make ours like that!”.

miggyjb:  sorry, but I think you need to find a better idea to work with those. If you are doing bubble candle too, you won’t want the petals close to them. If they are on guest tables I suggest making a LOT taller or short like banzai tree size but not having bubble candles. It also looks very Christmassy but your wedding is in May?

I still like them! I think they look cute and earthy for a garden wedding. I feel like it’ll be way easier to tell they’re rose petals from close up

I agree with PPs that they need some work. I could see taking off the leaves and putting on hanging candles working. That would make it less bulky/obstructive. I don’t love the rose petals. If you want to keep them, could you make them more delicate like this?

Or you could have them around the base like so:

miggyjb:  I’m sorry if you thought that was rude. You asked for OPINIONS..  Not requests only for those that agree they like it. Listen. I’m older, I’ve been to hundreds of weddings and just tried to share from experiences. Sorry if what FI offended you. That is just 1 persons opinion, can you imagine what your guests will think?

Just trying to give you things to think about.

Why not put the rose petals in the base, where the white paper currently is? You’d still have that pop of color without obstructing guests’ view of each other.

MrsTtoB:  If you are older, then you know there was no need to include your FI’s remark. Constructive criticism rarely involves such comments.

miggyjb:  You already have some good ideas about how to make the centerpieces more guest friendly: taller, thinner, more open.  Are you including the hanging red petals to bring in your wedding color? Another alternative would be to glue on silk fllowers. If you want something dangling, you could add lengths of crystals.

I think you should take another photo.  It’s hard to know what’s what as there’s a lot of other distractions in this photo.  Let’s see how it looks without the garland and I agree with a PP who suggested maybe putting the garlands inside the vases for some color instead.  You’ve still got lots of time to tweak them, don’t get discouraged by some criticism 😀  Personally, I’m not fond of the draped garland but these have great potential.  Also, I’m just some random internet stranger.  If you love it then who cares what I think right ?
