I know there’s a lot of family drama on here sometimes, so I wanted to chime in about my awesome MIL, and encourage other Bees to do the same!
My MIL is great. She lives about an hour and a half away, but she still came to the shower my aunts threw for me on Sunday. It meant taking a day off of work, and coming all the way out here, even though she doesn’t really know my side of the family very well. She did all of that, which is really amazing. I was so happy to see her just in general, because she’s great, but especially because I know it wasn’t super-easy for her to make it happen. <3
Ok, who’s next? Tell me why your MIL is awesome!

My MIL is awesome too! she is always baking stuff and making me blankets and complimenting me on how nice i look or how nicely i keep the house. It’s all little things, but i just love her, Another example is that her and my FIL are always gone camping in the middle of nowhere in the summer right when my birthday is, but they always find a place where they get cell reception so that they can call and wish me happy birthday 🙂

@chercee: My future mother in law is awesome too! My family hasnt shown as much excitement about the wedding as I have. Everytime I asked them to go dress shopping with me they kept pushing it off. So I asked my mother in law. She was absolutely thrilled to go with me. We went on 2 different occasion to 2 bridal boutiques and it was the 2nd time that I had my dress moment. She helped pick it out. I love her!

I love my MIL! She traveled 500 miles to attend my shower then turned around and threw me a surprise shower where we live 2 months later.

- Wedding: April 2012 - Chateau Briand
My MIL is awesome! My mom passed away four years ago so sometimes its hard when I feel no one gets as excited about things I know she would, especially now that we’re expecting. But she is beyond excited and has accompanied us to a few appts & will be registering with us 🙂

great thread! so many horror posts about FILs…
i love my FMIL (and FFIL for that matter)! they’re the complete opposite of my parents, so it’s really refreshing. i just love how comfortable i am around FMIL, we laugh, we joke around, we can hang out just the two of us easy peasy… but she also tells me how it is and has no problem threating me that i’m “cruisin for a bruisin” lol. love her!!

Add me to the list of those that love my FILs. We are having the wedding at their house and they have spent all summer making the yard and flowers and house look perfect. She hosted a wonderful shower for me.
But the best thing they have done is to accept myself and my kids as part of their family. They treat my kids like blood grandchildren and I am so grateful for that.
