So I always wanted to have this one to be my walk down the aisle song. It’s from my fav movie “Corpse Bride”. I have played it over and over and imagined me walking down the aisle. But when I asked my Maid/Matron of Honor about what does he think about it she just started to laugh! Well, not everyone might like this song but I got really uspet then… Is this really “bad and cheesy”? Guys help, I would like it to be my song but I also wouldn’t like my friend and family to laugh when I walk down the aisle. I’m seriosly thinking about picking something else…
Here the song: http://picosong.com/ciKn/

MissKota1419: Honestly, I’m not a fan of the song, but it’s your wedding. My husband and I used “Highway to Hell” as our recessional, which I’m sure not many people would like, but we didn’t care.

MissKota1419: I don’t even have to hear the song to tell you NOT to change it!!! Your Maid/Matron of Honor had a reaction, that’s fine. She’s not getting married. If your fantzsizing about using this song that clearly it’s meant to be! And if people smile/laugh that’s great I think! A wedding is a joyous occasion and taking a light-hearted approach to some aspects is great imo! Go for it girl!

It is your walk down the aisle, not hers. It’s the one you will remember for the rest of your life. Do NOT change it. Not for her, not for anyone.

If the song feels like you, use it. Your friends and family know you and I’m sure they’ll recognize how it fits you. I walked down to the Jurassic Park theme and have no regrets.

What about using an instrumental version? She probably laughed because it’s sung like a cartoon. If you remove the voices I do not think it comes across as cheesy at all.
Listen to this and see how you like it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIpshjJxkO4 The part you mentioned starts around 1:30ish.
All the music in my ceremony was Disney, I just used instrumental versions. No one even batted an eye. 🙂

My Maid/Matron of Honor tried the same thing. She even tried to tell me I should use the song she originally wanted for her wedding! Nope. I don’t know about walking down the isle, but my intro song is “Love Stinks”, because we’re crazy like that 🙂
Stick to your guns. You only get to do this once.

Good thing it’s not your MOH’s wedding, then!

I totally love the instrumental version!
But she didn’t laught because of the voices. She told me it sounds like a Christmas song with all those bells she almost see the Santa! Those bells sounds cheezy for her. She told if she was me she would picked Metallica song or at least a guitar version of THAT THING.

- Wedding: October 2014 - Church
MissKota1419: It’s your wedding not hers! I understand she’s your friend, but honestly … Just go with whatever you want. I think the song is fine. The song should represent who you are. Metallica represents her … Whatever.

- Wedding: March 2014 - A castle
MissKota1419: When I read your post I was totally on your side, “you should pick any song you want it’s your wedding!” Then I listened to the song :/ I think the song is incredibly weird. Sorry, I don’t mean to be rude, it just sounds so cartoony. I still think it’s your wedding, do what you want, but honestly I laughed when I heard it too.

Jabberwocky: Jurassic Park theme- That is epic!! 100% the BEST walk the aisle song I’ve heard yet!

Seriously, who cares? If you drop everything you like from your wedding because someone doesn’t like it, you’ll end cancelling the whole damn thing.

I know it’s my wedding but don’t you think the instrumental version is better? I’m looking for opinions like yours, constructive and objective

MissKota1419: her opinion means nothing. its your wedding. its you who is walking down the aisle. as long as you like, who cares what anyone else thinks
