- Wedding: September 2013
I think this is hilarious . My mom and sister went to a wedding together yesterday, and I get a text from my mom in the middle of it saying she is going to go dress shopping at the Mall of America tomorrow (she lives in central WI, the wedding they’re at is near Minneapolis) with my sister and SIL because she is jealous of the dresses at this wedding and now doesn’t think her dress for my wedding is fancy enough…
This is the woman who poo-pooed my own fleeting dress regret. Who has said many times she’ll just get her dress for my wedding on sale at the crappy mall in my home town rather than getting a propper mother of the bride dress. Who I’ve heard say several times, “well, this wedding is going to be QUITE the affair” in a tone of voice that wasn’t really complimentary but rather implied she thinks we’re being overly extravagant (for the record, we are expecting approximately 120 people, we don’t have a bridal party, it’s a simple outdoor wedding with a pig roast as part of the dinner, I just happen to be really detail-and-decor-oriented and am DIYing a lot things like table numbers etc…)
Oh mom… Dress Regret: it’s not just for the bride anymore!
