Ha! I call my mom like every day! And yes, she's done my laundry before, and I'm married with a child. Sometimes when I hit the wall of what I can handle, she comes over and sneaks laundry out or brings over some chocolate and soup. She's an empty nester and I think she loves the fact that my brothers and I still call her sometimes like "HELP!"
Moms are the BEST and it sounds like your mom is no exception. Glad she made you feel a bit better :)
Haha I totally call my mom when I'm having a lousy day. I just love talking to her - we can talk on the phone for hours randomly about all kinds of things. We live in different provinces so we don't see each other much, but when she comes to visit, she does my dishes, tidies my house, and makes me breakfast. No shame in letting your mama help out sometimes :)
I loved this! I don't think the awesome people get enough credit.
And don't worry, I call my mom all the time, and I'm 27. P.S. I say man-friend too! I've never heard anyone else say that!
I always wish that my Mom lived closer. Mom's are the best for making a hard situation better. It's like they have some magic wand that they can wave and make all your problems go away. Must be issued right after labour.
I love this post, it's adorable and it's making me smile! Moms are the best - they always know exactly how to help.
That was nice of her!
My mommy offered to help me out with laundry last night, but I put the basket of clean clothes on the table to start folding, only to find out my dirty rotten cats had peed in the basket of clean clothes. :( Sad day. I can't wait until the little bastards move on to kitty pergatory.
I'm going to call FMIL up crying and seeing if the laundry thing works with her. I have no clean scrubs to wear at work. Hahaha. Dang it.
@MissPumpkinPie Lol, maybe with yours- you should try!
The manfriend's mother (whom I work with and have a close relationship with) is a little more.... not as sympathetic. She's wonderful in other ways, but I really try to not cry around her because then she starts to pinch me to stop. Counterproductive to say the least.

I'm taking a quick break to say my mom is one of the most awesome people ever. I've been having a really hard time at school and last night the straw came down and about broke me. Today the manfriend had to keep plans to go out with my family for shooting, and I was all alone. I felt so overwhelmed and so... I finally did it. I called my mommy. (yes, I'm 26- don't judge)
So she came over and I'm just like- I've been crying every day the past week, I haven't gotten to go outside for days, I have so much more work to do and I'm living in a pigsty. I have no clean clothes. So I'm folding what clean clothes I do have and she asks me if she can help.
Long story short, my mother did all of my and manfriend's laundry. A little wierd? Yes. Absolutely. A whole lot of awesome and amazing and shiny ponies? Hell to the Yes.
I wrote the manfriend to let him know, because I'm sure he will be wierded out. "Also mom came over. She did the laundry. I'm claiming that as my round. Your turn next time :)"
I guess I'm just optmisitc.
