That's beautiful!
Here is a stock photo which looks like my Mom's engagement ring.

Her wedding band has a few diamonds in it with crosses. :-) My engagement ring is also a marquise solitaire, but mine is on white gold & my wedding band is channel set, so its different than hers. :P
Welcome to the hive, btw!
I don't have a picture, but my mom has a nice size oval sapphire ring. I love it! She had her sapphire before sapphires were cool. lol!
@Mrs.Estep: My mom's e-ring looked just like this, until she 'upgraded' it (twice) and added side stones on the most recent 'upgrade'.
ETA: Changed the picture. I found one online that looks more like my mom's ring.

This is a picture of my engagement ring by itself. My dad noticed right away that our rings were similar. I think that's why I'm drawn so much to emerald cut diamonds.
I love my mom's ring. I always have. Someday, it will be mine, but I hope it is not for a VERY long time.
My mom sold hers to my grandmother... I tried so hard to find a picture close to it and this is 'kind of' close...

her ring however is about 3 times this thick and the center diamond is lower... hers really looks more like a bow.
My parents got their wedding bands (no engagement ring) at Service Merchandise or something similar. They still look amazing all these years later. Here's a pic of what it kind of looks like.

Here's my engagement ring and wedding band.

I just posted my mom's ring the other day, it was actually apparently my grandmother's who gave it to my mom on a recent visit. Mom never wanted an engagement ring, and I've never seen her wear diamonds before, but I guess now is her chance. I love it!

My mom's engagement ring looks very similar to this, but with prettier, more flowy engraving.

My dad got her a RHR for her 20th anniversary that looks almost exactly like this... only hers is about two carats and this one is three.

I know how important some peoples' mothers are to them, so why don't we celebrate their beautiful rings? (If they're near to take a picture of if you can find a similar online!)
I hope to someday have a ring just like my mother's.
(Btw, I'm new here! Not yet engaged, won't be until the love of my life gets a job (He's applying to be a Pittsburgh cop))
