We got engaged last week on vacation! I knew I was getting a Moissy center stone because we picked the loose stone out together but after shopping a bunch of stores, BF picked the final product. It’s absolutely beautiful and frankly I can’t stop staring at it 🙂 The moissanite looks so different in various lighting situations, the only part I don’t love is how I can’t seem to quite photograph her in all it’s chameleon glory! Sometimes it’s bright white and disco ball sparkly, other times it’s more subtle and pure champagne yellow color. I particularly love the vintage-y look it gets when it turns that champagne color against the white diamond sidestones!
Okay okay, stats and pics! 7.5mm Forever Brilliant FB Moissanite in a diamond halo Valina Bridal ring w/ a Euro Shank (and teeny tiny hidden diamond, my fav). Don’t mind my gigantic fingers (size 11.5), I adore this ring!
Her first pic right after he proposed!

Whole ring (Euro Shank)
Tiny hidden diamond that I love 🙂
Looking very champagne-y
And last (but not least) a short little video I took today that shows the pure fire and sparkle of this ring (indoor lighting), it looks even better in the sun! http://youtu.be/XVHgE-9kin8

MsKnitter: Wow! That’s a sweet ring! Congratulations on your engagement! I have a champagne diamond ering, so I feel ya on the vintage vibe. There is something so warm and comforting about the color champagne! This makes me want a moissy for my collection so bad. Enjoy your beauty!! 🙂

GemmaBella: Thank you! I was really interested in moissy but was worried about the contrast between the diamond sidestones and the moissy.
While ring shopping, a jeweler showed me a gorgeous diamond halo ring w/ a warm center stone. I am not sure what color grade you would call “champagne” but it was beautifully warm against the WHITE sidestones and I fell in love! It was so beautiful (and I stopped worrying about my center stone matching the halo/band).
Sometimes this moissy looks bright white (especially from the top) and I can’t detect ANY color difference and other times it looks very different. I love all the moods! In hindsight, an OEC moissy would have been even prettier (and they show more of that champagne and chunky pastel colors) but I love the round brilliant I have too!
Do you have a pic of your ring Gemma?

MsKnitter: I think the contrast of warm and cool is very becoming and you picked a great combo!! I have seen a lot of antique halos on Rubylane that feature a warmer center stone, encircled by whiter ones. I think your ring looks vintagey for that reason. Here is a pic of my champagne ering. I will be pairing it with an antique Victorian diamond band with super white F colored diamonds, deliberately b/c I enjoy the contrast. It was hard to find older cut stones in the colorless range. I think it’s gonna look very charming together when it gets here.
Sometimes the champagne diamond also faces up whiter, depending on the light. Sidenote: It’s got some decent fire, which was a surprise as we bought it second hand on etsy, sight unseen.
Your FB Moissy is gorgeous, yet I can see why you want a Moissy OEC too- b/c I just love them as well!! There always needs to be something else to covet! Anniversaries + Birthdays, hint hint!
Enjoy your gorgeous ering!! (Your FI looks so pleased with himself and happy in that pic, btw..so cute. You can really tell you guys were having such a happy moment!)

GemmaBella: Lovely ring! If I had gone with a diamond center stone I think I would have also gone warm in color. They are so pretty and unique! Can’t wait to see the band with it 🙂
