So I was at the casino last night with DH and a few friends. On our way out, while the guys pulled the car around for us, a friend and I perused the gift shop where I found this ring. It’s nothing fancy. Actually, it’s a piece of super cheap jewelry, to be fair: painted metal and CZ stones, but I couldn’t get passed the roses.
My grandmother passed away when I was a freshman in college. I cared for her in her final year, and spent every weekend with her growing up. She once bought me a jewelry set (which has since broke) that had identical roses on it. My grandfather often buys bouquets of roses to set by her photo in the living room. She has the most amazing smelling roses in her garden. It’s honestly like walking into a dream.
I just couldn’t pass up this ring. It’s cute, and I miss her 🙁

@OnceUponATime: It really is such a cute ring! It’s little things like this that pop up and remind us of our loved ones. <3

Lovely way to honor your grandmom. I’ve found that the most poignant/bittersweet times when remember and missing loved ones are the times that hit us out of the blue…rather than those times or milestones we expect (holidays, birthdays, special anniversaries…).
