- Wedding: June 2010
I just finished my first ever jewlery project and had to brag a bit because I’m so happy with how it turned out.
I have a RHR that I bought as a momento when my grandmother passed away that I wear daily. When my grandfather passed away last summer, I wanted to do something similar, but wasnt sure what. I love the idea of jewelery that I can some day pass down.
I spent a few months talking to jewlers and getting quotes on rings and pendants. I was going to do morganite and rose gold until I found out that his birth stone (garnet) comes in pinks and purpless, so getting a garnet was a no brainer. I bought a Rhodolite garnet from a gem cutter and had it cut into a heart shape and then worked with a local jeweler to make the setting. After about 3 months of planning and waiting, I picked it up this weekend and just love it. I get to wear his heart on my finger every day now, and am going to cherish this ring forever!
