Warning: long story ahead!

Ok so as some of you know, FI has already purchased my wedding band along with my e-ring as a set.  So like a typical guy, he thought that by purchasing the set, he's being practical and we wouldn't have to worry about looking for a wedding band for myself. What he doesn't know that looking for a ring can be a lot of fun!

His cousin got us a referral at this place that sells jewelry at low cost. They got their bands and e-ring at that place as well. So we go check it out and it's all like locked doors and security guards everywhere! I got a little intimidated, I felt like I was visiting a mafia leader!

Anyways, we get into the sample room and I am floored. I was in heaven trying on every wedding band I liked. I finally found a simple pave one with 7 small diamonds! I loved loved loved the way it looked and it was even cheaper than the original band that FI got me, and it has more diamonds! FI found his band too for a very good price so we're happy campers.

FI's gonna try and sell my original band, hopefully he can.

So just to show you guys my original and new band, here are some pictures. Forgive the huge sizes and the phone pics, they're horrible.

FI noticed that the style I picked was totally different from the set that he picked. I told him, when shopping for engagement rings, you have to think like a girl. LOL!

@couawilou: Yes I completely agree about the uniqueness of my first band. I don't really see a lot of that, but the 2nd band is just so ME!

I actually have two colours on, although it looks like they're the same colour. My ring finger is Butter London in Wallis and the rest of my nails are China Glaze in Peace on Earth. If you look at swatches online, you'll see the real difference LOL!

Oh I just LOVE it!!!  Don't get me wrong, I thought your original set was lovely, and the band was definitely original (which I like) but I always love to see a band that can be worn alone!!  Good job sister!!

@MerryWidow: Thank you! That's EXACTLY why I wanted to get a new band!! I couldn't wear my original w-band by itself because it's so thin and the curve in it makes it look weird without my e-ring.

I tried wearing my new band by itself and I love it! It totally works!

@CanadianMermaid: OMG I wouldn't be surprised if there were a bunch of them around Toronto. The street itself looks so shady hahahah but inside was legit!

@CanadianMermaid: Mine is 14k white gold. They have a bunch of other metals too I believe. I don't know specifically about platinum.

@Melanie42 and @MrsGo I'm glad you guys agree! I guess that's one of the advantages of having a solitaire, you can have flexibility in pairing it up with different types of bands!

Gah FI told me we wouldn't be getting the rings for at least another 3-4 weeks. I'm itching to try it on in my size and take more pics with a proper camera this time!

It was nice to see FI try on his band. I could tell he was excited. He put the ring on his finger then he put his hand on top of mine, like in those wedding pics LOL! Then just to add to the cheese factor, I put my bands on and posed my hand with his! We were cracking up!
