Ever since we started planning the wedding, we've wanted to get a kitty cake topper. Problem was, I never saw them anywhere! I've seen lots of birds, dogs, more birds, the usual bride&groom, monograms, etc, but very few kitties...

And then I found these! They're not actually a cake topper, but rather a pair of salt and pepper shakers! Found them on Amazon, bought them instantly, and they arrived in the mail today! Aren't they cuuuute?? :-D

    *hoping picture attaches*

I may attach a litlte piece of leftover wedding dress fabric (from shortening it) to the head of hte girl kitty as kind of a veil to make it more wedding-y, but I think they're adorable just as they are :3

I agree, those are adorable. I was anti-cake topper until I found a pair of bride and groom rubber ducks and I had to have them. I'm glad you found something you like.

I'm also doing salt and pepper shakers, and I'm wondering if you are planning on making a base, or are you going to sit them as-is on your cake?

    Thanks everyone!

@j.grossman13 -- I hadn't even thought about making a base for them! I just thought I'd sit them as they are on top of the cake. But a base sounds like it would be useful... I'll think about it! :)

Very cute- they will work perfectly and it's nice that you'll be able to use them afterwards as well.

I am doing the same thing, but with surfers instead of kitties. I love, love, love your kitty topper, though! My fiancé and I both love cats - I have 5! But he's a surfer/surf instructor/surfboard shaper from Portugal and the wedding is going to be a casual, back yard kinda surf theme wedding, so I found these salt & pepper shakers on Amazona.com, too. And yes, we can and will used them after the wedding! There are so many other creative ideas for cake toppers - most of the ones you find on wedding websites/catalogs are so cheesy, tacky and boring! Have fun with it, I say!
