I am getting married in june and I have been researching the cost of flowers for a wedding and my head is just overwhelmed. I been thinking about doing my own flowers but I am really scared and I have no idea what will be better fake or real. Does anyone have any advice for a scared bride?

Oniipop: June 2015? You totally have time 🙂 I’ve seen some girls arrange their own fresh flowers, just do some trial runs in advance. 🙂
I didn’t want to bother with fresh flowers at all, so I made my bouquets out of a mixture of real touch lilies, parchment paper and sheet music ‘roses’, and some dried accents. Since they’ll last forever, I could make them as much in advance as I wanted 🙂

My friend found a flower wholesale place in our area where they sell all the flowers to local grocery stores etc. (http://www.flowerwholesale.com) I went with her a few weeks before her wedding, and we got to look at all the different flowers in this huge warehouse room. She ordered the flowers two weeks before the wedding and picked them up a few days before her wedding, and they looked great! She knew literally nothing about flower arranging and just put them in simple mason jars. All the flower cenerpieces total cost about $300, and she had about 10 tables. Here’s a picture (sorry that it is huge and blurry and sideways…)

- Wedding: July 2015 - Calamigos Ranch
I think DIY with fresh flowers is the way to go. I just started my DIY flower journey and my wedding isn’t until July 2015. If I can make an arrangement on my own, then I know you can too! Here’s a link to a thread I started on DIY cnterpieces: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/opinion-on-my-first-diy-centerpiece-attempt-hydrangea-roses-babys-breath/#axzz3A1VJsnRT.
