This past weekend my husband and I watched his parents dogs while they were out of town. Ramsey has been a member of their family for 10 years. I could tell he was acting a little different, sluggish, quiet, etc. First thing Monday morning his parents took him to the vet and he had tumors in his heart and stomach. He was put to sleep yesterday. My in-laws and husband are so broken hearted. Ramsey was an amazing dog whom I will miss terribly.
Please keep them in your prayers as they deal with this loss.

Thank you for posting that! I am thinking about having it framed for my in-laws. They are so sad right now. They had no time to say goodbye 🙁

Aw, Lindsay! How devastating. When I was in college, my parents had to put down our family dog of 14 years. There wasn’t time to get me home to say goodbye, and it was so heartbreaking.
What kind of dog is Ramsey? A Yorkie? After we lost one of our other dogs, our Labrador (we lost him to tumors, as well. And very quickly, too), one of my mom’s co-workers gave us this ornament as a gift, and it was so, so touching. Even though it made me cry, it was and still is one of our most cherished keepsakes. Could you maybe do something like that in his breed?
I love the Rainbow Bridge story, too. It makes me cry but it’s a sweet and comforting thought.

@Gemstone: Thank you so much! He was a Yorkie. I would love to do something like that for them. Thank you for the idea, and for your kind words!

@Linz1231: I’ve found several sites with them, including these two, plus Amazon:
I bet you can find one that’s a short-haired Yorkie to look a little bit more like Ramsey. Your husband and your in-laws are in my thoughts and prayers! It’s so hard to lose a dog — I know how it feels for them to be part of the family!
