Oh ladies, I think I need to give my wedding gown a bit of TLC. I am wearing the Marisa 726, and my wedding is in nearly a month. I have my third fitting on Saturday.

The thing is, I've started having doubts about this. How can I get past this? This dress has such clean, lovely lines, and has this whole twist on a classic, its very J.Crew. I searched high and low, went to about 8 different bridal salons, before I ended up with this dress. I also bought two other gowns before this one, neither of which worked out for various reasons. So, yes, this is dress #3!

I've just been looking at some different wedding blogs, and seeing these lovely tulle gowns, or dresses that have tons of detailing all over them and wondering if I should have purchased one of those instead!

     Ah! help!

Common feeling.  I still get "OMG do i have the wrong dress?!?" feelings, but as soon as I put mine on again those go away.  Try it on again, stop looking at other dresses, and dont question your decision My Poor Little Dress :-( : wedding gown dress bridal gown mistake multiple help Icon Biggrin

Also, I drool over these high couture ruffly one shoulder/exotic looking gowns.  I think they are spectacular in their own way.  To entertain myself, I tried one on and it wasnt at all me.  You might be the same case, bc youre looking at dresses opposite of yours in style.  Stick with your guns

Oh, thanks Kelly. Its nice to have some support.

I think I have the internet to blame. Even ten years ago, the ladies didn't have THIS many options that they could see online! We're the first group!

Haha I know how you feel! I have some doubts about my dress too, but when I try it on again I realize it's the only one that's going to make me happy!

I get dress envy pretty much every single day.  I wish I was one of those girls that was obsessed with their dress, but I'm not!

When you put on the dress do you feel happy and beautiful?  Does it match with the rest of your wedding?  If yes to both, then you just need to commit mentally to this dress!  If not, then maybe you should keep looking.

I got dress envy until my last fitting where everything was so perfect. I wanted to get married right then and there!!! Do you still get butterflies when you put it on?

I too was unsure of my dress right before my 3rd and final fitting a month before my wedding. I even started looking for used gowns and such online to see if I could find one in my size that i liked better because i just thought for sure I didn't pick the best dress! But, I was happy with it by the time my fitting was over. It wasn't the dress I initially imagined myself in, and with sooooo many dresses out there, I'm sure there probably was something better (especially since I didn't try ANY on. I bought it online without trying anything on because i was short on time) but I did like my dress, i looked amazing, my hubby loved it, and I got a lot of compliments!! I hope to buy a cheaper (probably Chinese made) wedding dress that I first imagined myself in for a trash the dress shoot for our anniversary, so I'd get the best of both worlds!

Yeah, I pretty much run away from dresses I see on the internet I'm scared of getting doubts!  That's really my only suggestion - HIDE!  Also, have you considered what jewelry you'd like with your current dress?  Maybe you can focus on the accessories instead of the dress?

I get dress envy every time I drive home. I LOVE my dress, but I still wish I was a short dress bride and I drive by a wedding dress salon that carries Priscilla of Boston and has short dresses in the window. *sigh*

Like the other ladies have said, I think we all have moments of dress envy, thanks to the internet and bridal magazines.  However, I google image searched your dress and it loos gorgeous!  It's elegant and classic and you're going to look beautiful.

You know how when you buy a pair of shoes that you love, you can buy them in 3 colors, and wear them again and again?  I think the thing with wedding dresses is that there are So many options, but you know that you are limited to choosing one, and for most of us, one color.  Hmph.  Can I wear a different wedding dress to church every Sunday? Maybe that would help, lol

I had some really bad dress anxiety! I wore my mom's and altered it to make it just a bit  more modern. I kept panicking thinking, "why didn't I just go dress shopping once just to see what was out there?" In the end, I couldn't imagine wearing anything else.

Go with your gut...this is your dress  And don't torure yourself anymore by looking at other dresses!!!

We all cheat on our dresses from time to time. I bought mine last October and my wedding is this Septemer, so I've had plenty of time for a wandering eye.

But as soon as a slipped it on again a month ago, I had to struggle to take it off, I loved it so much. I got addicted to trying it on around the house before a finally had to take it in for alterations...if it were up to me, I would've been sitting on the couch in it watching tv, with a mirror nearby to start at myself in! :)

I just looked at your dress online and it's gorgeous!! You of course want to be happy with your dress, but don't second guess yourself too much..you obviously loved it when you bought it!

Yep.  I think I'd be the worst at this..I remember having dress remorse before I married my x and am so slow at even beginning to look at dresses now because I know how this feels.

You second guess yourself all the time.  Well I did anyway.

Never fear!  What is SO AWESOME about the hive here is that when you have that wild fleeting feeling that your dress isn't right, post a pic of you IN THE DRESS and we'll talk you back down (of course we'll also tell you our opinions and the truth too).

Oh, thanks for all the kind words.

I went back to my fitting, and yet again, fell in love with my dress. I do agree though, that we all need to have multiple weddings because there are simply SO MANY lovely dresses out there!

    One a week!

Luckily when I get dress envy-the objects of my desire are around $5,000 ...there is no reason to be envious at that point.

Ok , heres the deal. I ordered my "dream" dress online , and it arrived 6 weeks before the wedding , it was bad REAL bad , it didn't fit and the "hand painted detail" looked like a preschooler had played with finger paints. I found  dress 4 weeks before at one of the "running of the bride" events. I had 2nd and 3rd and 4th thoughts. Day of it worked out perfect , having hubby say how nice I looked helped. Don't stress too much , i'm sure you will look stunning on your wedding day!!
