Hi Bees! I just wanted to share my lovely from my love:
(sorry, my pc doesn’t have any pic-tinkering programs except for Paint and I don’t know how to re-size the dang thing).
I knew from 3 years ago that I love the symbolism of the ribbon ring from Tiff’s; I loved that the diamond is “hugged” by the so-called ribbons so it doesn’t look lonely perching atop the band 😀 Also, I love that it kinda looks like a tulip, which blossoms in spring (all things new and revival, kinda thing). And, on a weirder note, that it looks like an eyeball, which means, “You’re engaged now, watch what you do!!!” lol :p
Of course I’d never get the Tiff version of it, I’d rather spend it on travel, so we had it custom-made, and I’m quite happy about it! (They didn’t really get the italicized-looking V, but watevs). And, the best part, I get to have my something pink underneath! I asked them to swap out two diamonds underneath for two pink sapphires instead. I was originally toying with the idea of having a pink diamond (wayyy too much moolah), or a pink sapphire, or a pink moissy as a centre stone, but going clear won in the end. So I love that I still got my pink in there somewhere, unobtrusive, like a sweet little secret. 🙂
And now: wedding band talk! Any advice as to what wedding band I should get?? I’m not into the whole wedding band sitting flush thing, in case I need to just wear the band on its own (especially at work). It looks silly with a dent on it. Also, I fell in love with the concept of russian wedding bands aka rolling rings, and I tried one on in the Cartier store on Bloor (I’m from Toronto). Lo and behold, they had one in just my size (tinny 3.25 ring finger), and they were lovely! Of course, I’d just about die if my wedding band was more expensive than the e-ring (they sold the rolling ring for 5,500CAD, wotcha). It looks like this, except it seemed skinnier in person:
I’m sure I could find a skilled craftsman to make this for a quarter of the price, or even less. I yet have to go and try it on with the e-ring, and hopefully it won’t be too odd-looking. What do you guys think?
