Weddingbee boards

Oh ladies, how I've dreampt about writing this post! I feel like the luckiest girl in the world and I am so in love with FI!

So I usually get done work at 5, but we're in the middle of a big system conversion at work so I didn't leave work until 6:30 on Tuesday night.  Then my gas light came on, so I had to stop and get gas.  Then I remembered I had no food at home, so I stopped and did some grocery shopping.  By the time I got home it was 8:00 - I was exhausted and hungry and STILL had to sign online and do postings for my grad class, which were due by midnight.

FI spent most of the afternoon and night at the hospital with his brother (super quick version - FBIL who is 19 has been battling a rare blood disorder for the past year, bone marrow transplant in June helped with the disorder but left him vulnerable and he wound up with a lung infection, was put on a ventilator 9/30/11 and they switched that out for a trachiotomy a few weeks ago.  In the past week or so he's actually been able to talk and eat and be weened off of the meds enough to stay awake and alert for more than 10 minutes at a time). 

So, back to the story - FI spent most of the afternoon and night with FBIL.  FBIL was the only one who helped him with the choice of ring, so he wanted to show it to him before he gave it to me.  FBIL told him "tonight!  tonight!" and that solidified FI's plan.

So FI calls me and says he's going to stop by.  He gets there and asks where the cats are.  I tell him I don't know and he goes downstairs to look.  Comes back up, says he couldn't find them and that he's gonna check the bedroom.  I say ok and turn back to my computer to get working on my posts.

Then FI yells down that I need to come see what the cat is doing.  I (irritably) tell him that I'm in the middle of homework, can't he just tell me what he's doing.  He goes "No, you have to come see this. It's weird!"

So I stomp up the steps, turn the corner and FI goes "Look - he's got himself all covered with the blanket!"  And my response is "That IS weird, cause he HATES being covered!"

Then FI moves the blanket to reveal the open ring box and drops down on one knee.

Everything after that is a total blur!!!!  I know he started with "Katy, you are the love of my life" and ended with "Will you marry me?"  but I seriously can't remember what he said in the middle!  And neither can he! Naturally I said yes (which he made me repeat like 20 times!) and we started all of our phone calls!

I still can't believe he finally did it!  I just sit and stare at the ring and when I think about what it means, I just cry.   I didn't cry that night, but I cry now!

The waiting was totally worth it.
