Awww! Way back when I was raising a pup, it was so weird to see the little teeth all around the house. In strange places too, he would just spit them out wherever he happened to be at the time.
I almost had a heart attack when my kitten started losing his teeth, I didn't realize they lost their baby teeth either! He lost so many at once, it was crazy!
I thought she broke it at first. I was about to panic, but the vet said that it was normal.
I have a Yorkie and they have bad teeth if you don't take care of them from the beginning. We didn't have him until his was 2 years so he's lost a couple of his front teeth and his tongue sticks out and it is the cutest thing on the planet. I love puppies :)
FI didn't know they lost their teeth, either, so when the first one from our Golden pup was found on the floor he sort of freaked.
I only found a few of them, many times they swallow them.
The sheltie I used to have swallowed all of hers, but the mini poodle/jack russell mix I had spit all of his out :)
@trugem: I definitely made a panicked call to my vet. I was afraid he was going to swallow his teeth and hurt himself, but they said that they don't usually swallow their teeth, but it's perfectly normal if they do.
Yeah, ours always just spit hers out in random places too. I wish I could have been that nonchalant about losing my own baby teeth, lol.
@linguo42: lol
Thanks everyone! I'm glad to know that I am not the only one who panicked about this. lol
We were at the dog park and some guy paniced about blood on his dog (from our puppy). Turns out they were playing and our boy decided that was the perfect time to lose a tooth and get some blood on another dog.
I still have a few teeth from both dogs actually.
Once they start falling out pretty close together, her breath may smell horrific. Truly like something died in her mouth. Just warning you. :)
Awww this brings back memories. I felt like a proud fur-momma when my puppy lost his teeth. He would be sneaky and hide them all over the place though :)
I am going through the same thing as you :) Our pup is about 5 months old and has been loosing teeth over the last week.. I found 3 lying around the house lately, and a couple she accidentally ate. She didn't seem too concerned over it.. But she has been chewing a lot lately and likes eating softer food. A weird fact is that most of the teeth she lost was when she was chewing on a stuffed animal? Her breath really stinks though lately yuck!
Aww I remember those days, my dog also spit them out and we'd often find them by stepping on them! I can't say that I was too upset to see those sharp little puppy teeth go, at the time she liked to chew on our arms!
Well, it looks like she has either been losing her teeth or she has lost most of them this week. I have only found one tooth so far, but it looks like her new teeth are coming in already.
@SportsGal: LOL I can't wait until my puppy is able to eat those things to make her breath fresh.

I didn't know that dogs lost their baby teeth. So imagine my surprise when she I heard her tooth fall out (she was tearing up my newspaper at the time). She wouldn't let me look in her mouth, but she spit it out. Apparently she is now of age to start losing teeth. She is about 4.5 months.
