Wow! What a gorgeous wedding! You have a beautiful family, Chela. Does your brother (I think it's your brother) look a little bit like Barack Obama? I love the florals and all the details. Your dress is stunning.

I reached out to all my married guests and asked them to supply me with digital images, if possible, of their weddings. I displayed throughout the cocktail hour to get people talking and moving around. It was a big hit! The staff at the reception hall then took all the photos and displayed them in the main hall for the reception, on the mantels and at the bars. All the most important people to us had larger photos. People really liked the idea and would go around looking for other's photos, in all I had about 50ish photographs of family and friends at their weddings. The best part was looking at how styles have changed. The old photograph was from the 1920's and the most recent was my cousin Raquel who had gotten married in January. There were civil marriages, church weddings, destination weddings, recommitment ceremonies.
Those were really nice!
I don't know if I saw Obama in your brother. But I thought your sister looked a little like Beyonce.
Doctorgirl, after looking at the pics, I see what you mean. His smile, is what makes him look like Obama. Tanya, the whole Beyonce thing, I can see why you may think so.

I really like the idea of requesting pictures of married couples to show case at the reception. I'm going to have to write that down and do for mine!

You looked so beautiful! Your colors, the reception, the sweetheart table, the rafters of the church, the photos of other married couples... it looked like a wonderful wedding. It makes me want to throw a huge bash like that :)

The bridesmaid dresses were all satin eggplant dresses from Jim Hjelm. My favorite part is that they were (for the most part) all different.
They purple shoes were capparos they aren't sold in that shade anymore.
Your reception was gorgeous! The lighting and how the floor goes through the room is so pretty!
I love the shot of you with the blusher before the ceremony. So gorgeous. It looks like you all had a fantastic time. Goes by too fast, doesn't it?!
